Die Another Day has already been shown on SKY tv's box office channels in the U.K. I'm assuming though that you mean't free to air. Both Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough were first broadcast on ITV two years after they were released at the cinema. If this trend continues Die Another Day should have it's debut on ITV around November 2004.

In The Netherlands we must wait to the time the new Bond movie comingout.
Between 2,5 and 3 years is normal.
In March 1998 there show Goldeneye for the first time on tv and a couple of month

Well, payperview already had it in the Summer, but I think it will be shown on regular Cable and other channels in 2005, I believe. Although, I may be wrong.

Thought so. I believe it was 2005 given as the date, when there was all that information about SPIKE gaining some of the rights to the films, such as TWINE and TLD, which TBS previously had. (TLD)

hopefully by 2005, Spike TV will have all 20 Bond films. or probably every one but GE.

Although it would be nice to see them all on one channel, SPIKE is not the one I would choose. Neither AMC, from what I've seen and heard recently.

I don't think TBS will be too keen to let go of LTK & AVTAK, CBS of TND, USA of GE.....they're great films to have!

I may be wrong, but doesn't HBO and other premium cable channels like those have to buy the rights to the films like any other channel? Or do they show the films first?

I'm just curious. :)

It seems to me that premium channels gets to show movies before channels like TBS or USA. For example, HBO shows Spider-man which I haven't seen any basic cable channels show.

Oh, that's what I meant in the second part of my previous post.

I never noticed a Bond film on one though, although I don't remember if I was really into searching all the channels for them when TWINE came out. :)

If I'm not mistaken, DAD is supposed to make its pay cable premier on Jan. 24 or 25 on Showtime.

I don't think TBS will be too keen to let go of LTK & AVTAK,

What in God's name possed TBS to keep those two specific films out of the 19? Did TBS truly refuse to give up the rights to those two? Or was it the more likely scenario, in which SpikeTV didn't even want those two rejects and said "Yo, you keep those two films. We don't want them."
I mean, let's face it, both films have a pretty bad reputation (not to me, I love both!) and weren't very big at the box office (in the states, that is).
Perhaps TBS feels the same way most of the general public does and is doing the humane thing by hoarding them and burning them so they can never be aired ever again.

Pray, one can only hope such is not the case. :)

I guess they dont want Spike to have the monopoly of Bond on television. I dont mind, TBS handled them better "back in the day", besides, i always like a Bond movie coming on after a Braves game every once in a while :)

I'm not sure of the legal aspects, but I believe TBS was and is still entitled to AVTAK and LTK, other wise they would have had to give them uo like TLD and the others.

We saw in the New Year with Die Another Day. Twice! :)

Star Movies showed the movie back-to-back starting from 9PM. We invited a few friends around to at least watch through the first showing of the movie before getting too inebriated with the festivities. :)

Thankfully, there were no Indonesian subtitles, but it was curious to see the various captions in white while the Korean/Chinese translating subtitles were in yellow (my DVD has them all in white). As far as I could tell there was only one cut of about 40 seconds, for Asian consumption. After Bond tells Jinx on the beach that “They feast like there’s no tomorrow” the fade out on Jinx’s face cuts straight to Bond saying to Jinx in bed: “I’ve been missing the touch of a good woman.” The horizontal folk-dancing and Jinx’s: “Are you always this frisky” are missing as a result of the cut. Due to my standard TV screen dimensions certain shots were out of focus for a time because whoever/whatever that would've been in focus to the side could not be seen.

12 midnight saw the Bond/Zao confrontation in the Cuban clinic in the encore showing, but after we counted down into 2005 vodka martinis, mojitos (amongst other libations) and the ensuing partying were too much to bother watching the movie further, although it still played on in the background.

Can't wait for it's release on cable TV, make it feel more a part of the series.

The World Is Not Enough seems to be played the most often on it's own or in marathons, perhaps Die Another Day will then be that film.
