You're right. Dalton in MR or Moore in LTK would work even less well than Dalton in OP or Moore in TLD.

I'll pick Dalton in MR simply to keep Moore out of LTK where he would not belong. Of course, if it were a faithful adaptation of Fleming's MR novel Dalton would be an easy choice.
