I have my copy of Moonraker on my night table (an edition from the 80s with a color drawing of Bond and Gala with Drax sitting inthe background and the Monraker taking off. Not as nice as the new Penguin one but I've had it for years.)

Anyway before I start rereading it I was wondering if the Blades Book Club is still in action and if Moonraker will be the 3rd Book read.

I'll certainly read it, but this Club has become fairly dead, so i wouldnt bet on a lot of participation

That's too bad. I didn't really participate in the Casino Royale discussion as I had read it around 6 months before. I only did one or two posts for LALD but like the idea of re-reading Fleming this itme in chronological order. My first time through had been rather scatter-shot as I'd read the ones my small town's library had.

Well I expect to start it in the next week or two, anyone else who wants to join johnboy and I is welcome to discuss it here in this thread if no where else.

Well, we'll have to see what comes of the staff members commencing on the book club. Although I'm game to read Moonraker again, one of my all time favorites! This is one you never tire of....

I am thrilled to read that Luke "Freemo" Freeman will make 2004 a great year by bringing back the book club and by give us a laugh on Fridays.

The man is a wonder!

I started re-reading Moonraker the other day and have to say it is one of Fleming's best. I just love this and LALD and it may be because they are so different than the films that its a unique experience reading them.

One thing that amazes me is that hte book is almost 50 years old and yet was one of the inspirations for Die Another Day. How many other popular authors (or their estates) could say that about their work? :)

I'm eagerly awaiting it too B007GLE! :)

This one is one of Fleming's best, along with DN, OHMSS, LALD and many others! :)

Many thanks again to Freemo for eventually bringing this back this year, here's hoping we get even more reader's this time! :)

I think so Snow, but I'm not sure. I bet one of the staff members can verify it for you.
