I own this one and I quite like it! The author breaks the book down into categories such as 'His Image', 'His Women', 'His Adversaries' and more...., with each giving an in-depth description of each category. It sums up the main ideas and the roles of the women and villains in each of Fleming's masterpieces.

I definitely recommend buying this book and would not hesitate to in a second!

When it comes to Bond, if you don't own it, buy it!

I read it years ago, a friend lent it to me and I really enjoyed it. I'd love to get my hands on another copy.

If you are referring to Snelling's "007 James Bond: A Report", it really isn't like the Pearson biography. It is more of an expository look at the world of James Bond, with in depth analysis of each aspect. It is a good read and i enjoyed it, however it is a bit wordy at times. Still, it is a must read for a Bond fan, i think.

Anytime! :) If you enjoy this one, I strongly recommend Kingsley Amis' book about Bond, written at a similar time, both very informative!

I don't know of any other than Pearson's that were created during that similar time, although perhaps someone may tell you of some, I'd be interested to know! :)

I am just wondering about any other unofficial biographies written between say 1964 and today.Surely Pearson's and Snelling's(which isnt really a traditional bio) can't be the only ones........

Ah, it's an excellent book, with severla chaprters dedicated to categories such as the Bond girls, violence, villains, James Bond and many, many more! There is also a nice little chart in the back the includes a rough layout of the Fleming books.

Highly, highly recommended! :)
