FOr Your Eyes only and Nobody does it better were amoung 400 songs nominated for the top 100 of all films

still, AFI doesn't count for much....AFI is just a bunch of morons who get payed to **** everyone off...I'll never forgive them for 'atticus finch'........and now they do it again: No GOldfinger, oh well, at least no one likes them

Of all of the Bond title songs to pick, they choose one that is middle-of-the-road and one that is bottom of the barrel.

Some of these choices, however, I agree with and would place on my own list - but some, like "Anything Goes" from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, I think are decisions made by AFI members under the influence of hasheesh.

Hey Kevin - yo, what's up with the AFI bashing? These lists are simply meant to promote movies in general and make for fun debates. What was wrong with Atticus Finch? That didn't upset me, Indiana Jones at #2 bothered me. Indiana Jones was three movies and the third one completely sucked, Bond had 19 movies at the time of the list and had become a legend over four decades. That didn't make any sense to me at all. I'm a Spielberg fan, but please. With Finch, I understood cuz they were looking for the movies' most "moral" hero.

Have you ever actually seen the movie?

I'm surprised Goldfinger didn't make it, but the one I definitely would have replaced FYEO with would be Diamonds Are Forever.

I intensely disliked For Your Eyes Only the very first time I heard it. Now it has become one of my favorite songs ever. For the diminuative size of Sheena Easton, her voice thunders with greatness and power! The line:

"Now I'm breaking free!" - is just an example of her majestic voice.

An excellent song indeed, truly deserves the nomination.

Anybody explain why the Bond theme is not in there? If that's not one of the top 5 pieces of music in film history then the AFI bashing may have some merit to it.

They come up with some weird picks on these things. A lot of those old ones I've never heard of (Varsity Drag, anybody?). But to include Springtime For Hitler from The Producers is great. If only they nominated that song from the South Park movie, I know they'd be serious and diverse (don't worry CBn staff, I won't mention the title).

well, you are bashing indy, so were even. the problem is that most everyone I've talked to (on the web, in person....) hated the fact that they put atticus up there


and for the record....yes, I have seen TKAMB...as well as all 3 indy, and all 20 bonds

and as for LC sucking...that's just an excuse that most bond fans who are anti-indy/lucas/spielburg use
