I agree completely. Especially when you consider that John Barry had three weeks, or two depending on who you read, to compose the score. It seems like reviewers for the most part rate it as the worst soundtrack of the series because they cannot get past their dislike of Lulu or the slide whistle.
Exactly! It proved that Barry could come up with some average-great work for a film in a matter of 2-3 weeks, whereas composers these days take months and months! Many people come to really like the soundtrack if they take the time to listen to it all, like you said Triton, and it's one of the very best.
