For a long time now, Cussler has yet to see a screenplay that he approves of - the ones that he sees ruin his characters that many Pitt fans have come to love, and would ruin the story, and make for another disasterous Pitt film. But, Crusader is harassing Cussler into going with a screenplay that is not up to snuff, and in order to keep their contract from expiring, they have just begun to film unnecessary footage.
Now, although I tend to believe that internet petitions will really have little effect on movies and how they are made, a fellow fan has drafted one such petition, and although I doubt that it would really work as well as we hope, it wouldn't hurt. With that said, I just want to ask my fellow Bond fans, my CBn family to take a minute and sign the following petition - make sure to say that you will NOT see the movie, NOR buy it.
Thank you very much for your time - I thank you on behalf of the Cussler/Pitt fan community!!!

Err...well, thanks for the signature - that's what counts! As for your hatred for Matthew McConaughey, I'm sorry that he's the reason that you refuse to see it, because if is half as good as it COULD be, then it would be an amazing spectacle of adventure...

Bondood007:
Dirk Pitt is the creation of writer Clive Cussler. Cussler, a veteran of the Air Force, grew up with a great love for the sea, decided after a short career in advertising that he wanted to write adventure novels. He decided to focus his novels on a hero named Dirk Pitt (who was named after his son, Dirk Cussler). Pitt holds the rank of Major in the U.S. Air Force, and works for the fictional agency, the National Underwater and Marine Agency (NUMA). He holds the office of Special Projects Director, and his life-long friend Al Giordino is his Assistant Director, also once an officer in the Air Force. The two are always caught in adventures, and the following novels chronicle their journeys:

I'll see if I can find those. :-) Is it like the Bond novels and should read in order but you don't have to if you don't want to? In other words should try to get Pacific Vortex first? And are they hard to find?
Thanks very much.

Bondood007 - you must read the Dirk Pitt books, they are much better than the 007 books.

I read Atlantis Found first and then started to read Valhalla Rising before JackChase told me about the need to read Pacific Vortex first. I then read The Mediterranean Caper and am in the process of reading Iceberg right now. I am chomping at the bit though to start on Night Probe though which seems to have a great plot.
Night Probe!, I feel, has the best plot in the series. It is definately more of a suspense novel than an adventure novel, but is still nonetheless fascinating...
It's definately my favorite of the series.

Actually, speaking of Dark Horizons - do you think it would be worth it to send information concerning the petition to the editor? Maybe that would be a way to get more attention to the cause!
