The Toronto Star has published a great interview with Big Fish star Ewan McGregor in which he addresses rumors that he may in the running to be the next James Bond.
He's the right age

His hair was dark. He portayed a very moody character. Pulled off the humor and can probably do a very good rendition of Undrr Dee Maango Treee if needed.

I just really don't think the guy can act. I'd say I'm in the minority, but he grated with me in the first two Star Wars flicks [especially The Phantom Menace].

You know good actors appear in big films not just to do good acting, but fufil childhood dreams, like being in a star wars film, the script didn't allow for impressive acting, doesn't mean he's now a bad actor LOL.
Go and watch trainspotting, moulin rouge, he was actually quite funny in a small part in Black Hawk Down as well.

I 'think' he would be excellent as Bond. He's got sex appeal, looks, screen presence. Though I also 'think' Joaquin Phoenix would be even better - certainly in the knicker department!!

But IMO he's totally the wrong man for the job.
Too short and too slight.
I'd even rather have Jude Law over him!
