A source close to the ever elusive LucasFilm has leaked a tidbit of info of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles on DVD being released a lot sooner than we had all thought. We may be able to purchase them next November, right before the Classic Star Wars Trilogy is released in December..........

NEXT November?

Hmmmm.

I loved that show. It was done quite well.

Plenty of time to confirm your sources, though, IndyB007.

I love this series, but let's hope Lucasfilm follows through this time and releases the entire series. A few years back they released VHS copies with much fanfare, nice packaging, official website, etc. They released half the episodes and promised the second half would be released in six months or so. Nothing happened.

I too found that quite annoying.. quickly purchasing all the videos on the initial release and waiting and waiting and waiting for the remainder to come out.. I know that they were finished because a few of them aired on the Sci Fi Channel, but I don't get cable.... :)

This time around I hear the entire series will be made available in a box set with extensive bonus material for each of the episodes revolving around the making of the show and documentaries about the historical aspects of each episode as well.....

Can't wait to re-buy them all once again.

Sheesh.

That to me is as sad as buying software.

You purchase something that is "borken" or "incomplete" and then PAY for the "upgrade" to have it fixed.

Just give us the finished DVD with all the stuff and goodies so we don't have to buy the things multiple times....

What am I saying...they'll think I am a Communist or somthing by going against the very foundation of the American consumer culture.

Ahem.

Nevermind.

Tell me about it.

I'm furious, since only this summer a four-DVD Tom Clancy movie box set was released (HUNT, PATRIOT, CLEAR and SUM - you know the drill), and yours truly bought it. Now, round about half a year later, the damn thing's on sale again, with but one small alteration: HUNT now boasts a John McTiernan commentary track that wasn't there before.

Grrrrr....

Loomis - you need to keep track of the trade news more closely. That McTiernan audio commentary was widely publicised long before the box set you mentioned went on sale to the public.

I don't think so. Not in the UK, anyway.

Well I cannot speak for the UK but here in the USA it was announced long before "The Sum of all Fears" was released that McTiernan had recorded a DVD commentary for "Hunt for Red October" for a DVD special edition.

I was not too impressed with the McTiernan commentary anyway, I thought the better special feature was the documentary!

Actually, I did get wind of that, but there was some doubt as to whether that special edition was going to be released in the UK. As far as I know it's only available as part of the four-film box set, which, if that's really the case, is ludicrous.
