Well, I feel the same as with the first thread announcing his new book. Yes, I'm sad, I always like a Bond novel each year and this year I had caught up and Benson quits! (Great timing, huh? :)) However, I will definitely buy the new novel, 'Face Blind', (I like that title, very cool) and hope the book is as interesting as it sounds to be. Granted it's no Bond, but I'm still excited.

I was quite intrigued by Benson's mention of memoirs related to his experiences with the world of James Bond. I think that'd be a great read, and something seldom released.

I would love to read his memoirs too, and I wish he would go back to the Bedside Companion. I can understand his hesitation to touch the novels, but that is why God created co-writers. :)

I'm looking forward to this book as I'm a fan of Benson and am also a Psychology student. Funnily enough we've recently touched on Prosopagnosia so this should make an interesting read.

Do you think he had to sign confidentiality agreements upon termination/non-renewal of his contract?

Perhaps he gave up the legal right to mention certain aspects of his employment during his tenure with IFP. At least for a minimum 'sun-set' period.

Anyone know anything about such a possibility?

Not having any info of any sort, but I cannot imagine a modern day contract (particularly one connected with James Bond) that wouldn't have some form of confidentiality agreement prior to commencing work.

Note: This has been on CommanderBond.net for several years, but I've been putting together a few discussion topics for these older articles. A chance to see some earlier stories for the newer members.
