The Las Vegas secret mission continued with a rendevous at the
Bellagio to meet Bryce 003. The meeting took place after Derringer and Bond Girl #1 attended the Jewel concert at the Aladdin.

The pic below shows Derringer and his Bond Girl #1 along with Bryce 003. Cigars provided by Derringer, martinis provided by Bryce 003.

003 is smoking a 1964 Padron Anniversary in maduro, Derringer has the 1964 Padron Anniversary in natural, Bond Girl #1 is smoking a Butera.

003 is a true gentleman, and an excellent conversationalist. More pics to follow.

"I shouldn't have gone to the bathroom." [see pic].

Or so Bryce 003 thinks. Actually one of my spies took this pic while my Bond Girl #1 effectively diverted 003's attention, to include saying "Ohhh, James". Little did 003 know that while she was diverting his attention, I was actually taking his Jaguar for a spin down the Las Vegas strip. These female spies do prove to be useful! :)

I hope 003 doesn't notice the new small dent on the passenger side door. :)

More pics to follow...

Oh puhhhhleeze! :)

Joyce,

003 reports planning a mission to London & Amsterdam with another one of the agents here on CBn. Make sure he at least gets to that wonderful Van Gogh museum, and sees some of those art galleries when they rendevous with you. The one owned by Lara Wijsmuller immediatey comes to mind [on Prinsengracht?]. :)

Oh yes, I'll make sure 003 and 004 will have a 'good time' in Amsterdam... :)

I wonder how 003 makes sure he always finds a lady in his arms at some point... he might be 'unpleasantly surprised' when he gets to Amsterdam... :)

Oh it's a very simple technique employed by most 00 agents...One simply asks for permission in a gentlemanly manner. :)

003 & 004,

I know you guys already know about Giblin's book for London.

For Amsterdam, besides the normal travel book reading, I would highly recommend a novel by Arturo Perez-Reverte, The Flanders Panel . This author is the same who's novel was the basis for the movie The Ninth Gate starrring Johnny Depp. The novel itself will put you in a frame-of-mind for viewing the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. There is also a short biography, a glossy paperback, I believe from Penguin Classics on the life of Van Gogh. The book has photographs of his paintings, explains the periods, Barbizon school, etc. I highly recommend reading this before visiting the Van Gogh museum. It is a quick read, less than one hour.

Contrary to popular belief, traditional Dutch cuisine is quite good. The name of the restaurant escapes me right now, but when I get back home from Vegas, I will look up the name of the restaurant and post it here.

Hasn't anyone told you not to let out company secrets Derringer? :)

BTW...The Bellagio looks marvelous. Is it as nice as it appears in the pix?

Xen,

Yes, Bellagio is very nice. But these hotels on the strip do not have in-room coffee pots, and it takes 30 damned mins in the morning for room service to deliver the coffee!

We completed our mission today by helicopter. Enemy activity forced me to land the helicopter on the bottom of the Grand Canyon [see pic]. After I made some quick repairs, Bond Girl #1 and I continued the flight with a flyover recce of the Hoover Dam. All was safe with the dam and we reported our recce to MI-6. :)

Actually, the helicopter tour from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon was wonderful. In the pic we are freezing cold, not the best of pics. This is the first time I have ridden in a helicopter with the doors closed. What a luxury! Back in my Army days the doors were always open, and that really sucked in the Winter time.

30 minutes for coffee? In some parts of the world, I think that is grounds for justifiable homicide.

:)

I was checking out Bellagio's website, and I can't believe with everything else in there...NO coffee pots???? Too weird!

I noticed the wind sock was kicking around quite a bit. Sorry it was so cold. I love the cold...but not first thing in the morning. :)

Don't worry my very dear 009.

Showing someone a ggod time is very much a two way street!!

I'll guarentee that!

Hmmm. Interesting comments from you two ladies. This sounds like attacks on young Bryce's personal honor, or perhaps on my Bond Girl #1 due to jealousy of her very fine looks. See how much insight Fleming gives us on the female mind? :) Or, tsk, tsk..must be some personal issues going on in the background. :) Eh? C'mon out with it. :)

No concerns here by either one of us. And prima facie, 003 appears to be a trustworthy agent, who can and will be employed on joint missions.

Well, we are off to the poker tables for a morning session, and then have an afternoon flight back to home station.

This has been a fun mission here in Vegas, and on a more serious note, we hope to meet more of the special section of 00x agents in L.A. on our next trip out to the Gardena area poker rooms.

Cheers Derringer.

It was grand and the conversations and "shop talk" were great!

If you don't mind, please either repost the pics or email them to me (via the usual secure channels). Glad you both made it home safe.

Ah yes, the Bellagio is a grand experience. I'm a bit more partial to the Venetian, but (as I was technically on a Re-Con mission) I was put up at the Imperial Palace - in a fine suite with excellent service - and I enjoyed the casino and their remarkable auto museum - upon arriving the valet looked over the Jag and casually asked "Is this going up to the museum?" I laughed and told him no, but he assured me it would have fit right in between the Bentleys and Aston Martins.

I hit the tables in the VIP salon at Caesar's and had another good run at Roulette over at the Mandalay Bay.

As Sunday morning dawned, I was a bit wiped out and after some debate, decided to extend my stay by one night and then (as these things happen) I was planning to call the Derringers and let them know I was still in town. But then, my cell rang.

My Irish Kitty had not been able to get out of her work on Friday, but she called to see how my evening had gone. I explained I was staying one more night. She quickly said "Let me call you back". Less than five minutes later, she had booked herself a flight and at 4:30pm, I picked her up at the airport and (via a limo I arranged for) we were treated to a sunset cruise back to the hotel.

After a few cocktails and a clean up, we made our way to the MGM where the Irish Kitty got to see the big kitty's - two beautiful lionesses who were roaming about their habitat. She got into a staring contest with one and I think made a new friend. With that we crossed over to New York New York and went to a great pub/restaurant "Nine Fine Irishmen" where a festive Irish band was filling the place with music that would have gotten Pierce on his feet;) A few traditional plates of food and the required amount Guinness and both of us on our feet singing along with the band made quite the evening.

We left yesterday and had a smooth drive home. The other kitty (the Jag) really got to stretch her legs and clawed up the road without a hitch (at around 85mph) and many positive looks from others on the road.

Not a bad trip.
