I recently decided to finally get a Nintendo 64 (99.9% just so I could finally play GoldenEye) and then I realized that TWINE was on N64 too as well as Playstation. For those of you who have both versions (or even one of the versions) please tell me which is the better buy. Just by looking at the screenshots N64 looks like a much sharper game, while the PSone version looks much like TND. So is there really a difference besides graphics? Is the gameplay basically the same?

I have it for PSX... the graphics are not as dreadful as they appear on the case and it also has clips from the movie which I do not believe are on the N64 version, but I could be mistaken.

I prefer the N64 version, but the PS1 version is good too.

Well, I have the N64 version and it's fine for me. Definitely doesn't hold a candle to GoldenEye, but it's still okay. I've never played it on PS.

Thanks everyone for responding!

Well I think I'll have to buy both! :) But I'll be sure to get the N64 version first. Aside from the fact that the N64 version has more levels, is the basic gameplay the same in both editions? Afterall I don't want to play (and pay for) the same game twice.

bond111, I am unsure if the gameplay is the same for both versions, however, I think you'll like the N64 version very much. I find it pretty challenging. There are no 'codes' to gain all the extra stuff (more AI skins etc...), you have to earn them, I still haven't gotten them all yet, gotta get some time! Enjoy. :)

Thanks for the advice Qwerty! Now as soon as the system actually gets here and I verify that it works I will be sure to get TWINE for N64. :)

Now one last question....for now at least. :) Do you need an Expansion Pak to play this game on N64 or can you play without it (or would you even want to)?

They are both completely different games. Get 'em and play 'em both.

Although I own both versions, neither a really that great. I'd say that the N64 version is slightly better due to it's fantastic multiplayer which first introduced the AI Bots.

The N64 version is the superior GAME, but the PSX version might be the better experience of the FILM. It's shorter, but it also has less filler levels and is a more streamlined experience.

They are both pretty distinct games, with the N64 featuring 5 exclusive levels (to the PSX's 2) and most of the shared levels being quite different. For example, I'm pretty sure the PSX's final level did not require the loopy 'swimming' that the N64's final level did.

Both also had plenty of gadgets, although the ones in the PSX version were much more 'Bond-like' (like an explosive pen) while the N64's felt like they were leftovers from Goldeneye. It's been a while since I played the N64 version, but it seems like the PSX featured more use of the gadgets as well- with most of them being used at least twice in the game.

Overall, you will probably want to get both of them, especially considering you can find each pretty cheap these days.

I don't know about anyone else but I thoroughly enjoyed TWINE on the N64 and Goldeneye. I believe the N64 version was better.

I loved the N64 and I would vote for that over the PSOne.

I have owned both versions. As there is a multiplayer mode on the N64 version, I would choose that one over the Playstation version. Another difference is that the PS version uses movie clips within the game - that actually annoys me.

I have played both. They are two entirely different games, but I can say that the N64 version is much more enjoyable. It's a direct copy of GE, but it's still very fun. I'd take it any day over that terrible PSX version... ugh.
