I must say. I can't choose between those two vehicles. They are both very very beautiful. But the facht is that the Aston Martin is Bond's car, so I choose for the Aston Martin.

But now I read very very good news on www.jamesbond.nl.nu/ that the baddies will drive a Jaguar XKR. So I desperately hope that we see a car chase between those two cars. Can you imagine? Jinx in a Jaguar XKR and 007 in his Aston Martin? Well, I hope we see a very long car chase, just like in the movie 'Ronin' (on of the best car chases in history, if you may ask me!)! Somewhere downtown, where Bond is making a mess!

Here is a list of the best car chases in Bond history:
1) The Spy Who Loved Me
2) Goldfinger
3) Tommorow Never Dies
4) The Living Daylights
Those were the only ones where Bond is making good use of the Q-invented cars!
So let's hope that Bond 20 will surprise us

I must say I also would like to see that Bond is dragging a person out of a driving instruction car, for instance an ordinary Ford Focus or something else. Something like in A View To A Kill. That will also be very very funny.

And now other news from Aston Martin. Aston Martin has signed a contract for two more Bond movies. So it's also sure that we are not rid of Aston Martin yet!

I think we will get a VERY large car chase in Bond 20, its been a while since their has been a big car chase, with the exception of TND which was in a car park. We need to see Bond "on the road", with Aston Martin returning, now is a great oppertunity to show off 007's driving skills. I'd love to see Bond either on a busy motorway - swurving out of the way off the traffic, or going "off road" this would look VERY cool, in an A.M. Vanquish. Imagine Bond cutting through fields, or doing a roll-over. A really cool idea for a gadget would be, if the car could be driven remotly by Q-branch, while on a motorway, at full speed with Bond fighting someone on the roof, i dont know how he could get into that situation but it would be awesome.

What about James Bond disturbing a Formula 1 race. I know, a little bit farfetched, but it will look very cool.

But I'm very very pleased with a Ronin-like car chase between an Aston Martin and the Jaguar!

Yeah! Let it be TRUE!

Oh I hope not!
Not another Mrs Bell or J.W. Pepper! [shudder]

I was thinking. Because these two cars are its own concurrents. Would it be not very nice that the Jaguar XKR also will be equipped with gadgetry? So that we see the toughest car chase ever?

I DESPERATELY HOPE SO!

Now this would be a cool car chase scenario...

Q hands over an immaculate, shiny brand spanking new Aston Martin to Bond at a secret test track. Bond starts putting the car through its paces, then decides to go for a little detour, much to Q's impotent annoyance.
Whilst out of the open road Bond is attacked by various and divers villains. After a HUGE chase and road battle, Bond dispatches the villains and returns to the test track.
Q can only gape in disbelief as a bullet-ridden, burnt, dented, scratched and generally wrecked Aston Martin pulls up beside him. Bond cooly gets out, hands the keys to Q and says "Very good, make sure it's ready for when I get to Havanna next week."

Oh...and I just came up with the coolest use for an ejector seat....

I have to agree with Friedrich Baxter on the Ronin-style car chase. Ronin is one of my favourite films ever and the car chases are mind blowing. However, I would much rather have a hi-octane chase between the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish and the Jaguar XKR that a gadget-laden one. I think going OTT on gadgets would ruin the scene, let Bond rely on his driving skills for once. We know he's a good driver, so let's hope we see Bond racing against Jinx in Bond 20, handbrake turns, et al.

Absolutely! The Ronin car chase was rivetting because it was credible. Once you have cars doing impossible things like the bridge jump in TMWTGG ( which in 'real life' needed the Caltech computers to plot), there's very little suspense, for all the spectacle.

"R" (16 Dec, 2001 05:10 p.m.):

I think that that would be one of the greatest car chases ever, and a very funny moment when he brings it back to Q. Another point to make is that with John Cleese as Q, he could make a little quip about Bonds driving skills just to wind him up, as that is usually the type of acting that Cleese does. But I love that driving scene "R", I hope that EON scout these sort of sites to try and please their fans (for once) and that they stumble across this and use it for Bond 20. If they do scout these sites... then that would explain the enormous amount of "Anonymous" people we have been getting lately... I'm just getting carried away. Good idea "R".

Why *should* Bond be the only one with gadgets in his car?
Other than the rocket propelled sidecar thingo in TSWLM, I don't think the baddies have had the benefit of a tricked out car .
Oh... Scaramanga *did* have a flying car, didn't he.
