I really like Joanna Lumley, although the American girl is quite beautiful also.

Good point. When you see her skates flash across the screen as Bond is being chased, and the picture slowly moves up to her face, that is perhaps the slickest moment in On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

I've always sort of liked this girl (below). She has kind of that Raquel Welch thing going on.

Yes, Ruby... For what she lacks in the looks department, she makes up for in "enthusiasm."

You hit it on the mark zencat. THAT voice, although it is kind of fun in a way.

Quick question: there are 12 girls supposedly from all over the world but which country is Ruby and Joanna Lumley's character from? One is British but who, and where is the other one supposed to be from?

Well, Lumley is playing the girl from England, but doesn't Ruby say to "Hilly" while they are in bed that she is from somewhere in England? (I think)

And my point is that there are only 12 "angels of death" for the whole world, yet 2 for little England. A tad redundant don't you think?

Perhaps Blofeld wanted to make sure England was really knocked out of the way.

Yes, she had some fun in the tub with David Niven.

Yes, I absolutely agree with you on this point Qwerty, that is probably my one single favorite shot of the entire series. I remember seeing it on TV when I was just a young kid and simply being blown away by it.

DLibrasnow, I rewind that scene every time, to watch it over and over again. It's so magnificent, so thrilling, so perfect! It's an example of an original idea that works wonderfully to introduce the character again. (BTW, I actually think the way the music is timed as she glides onto the screen adds to the effect.)

Hmmm... Beats me. Maybe because the one I posted was a pic of the trading card? I'm really not sure of the rules myself. It might be helpful if we posted guidelines on this somewhere.Originally posted by Athena007
just a question... how is the pic I posted a copyright infringement and the one Zencat posted not. It was practically the same pic. ???

Ya, I think we need to have some general guidelines somewhere.

I think the music, editing and cinematography have never been married together as perfectly as they were in that one scene....Diana Rigg has never looked more beautiful and she simply sparkles in that scene....That is one of the major reasons why On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is in my top 5 of all the James Bond movies.
