Uma Thurman as Bondgirl?

The "Kill Bill" actress has never been approached to play a Bond babe, but she'd love to team up with PIERCE BROSNAN, or whoever his successor is.
She says, "When I was growing up they always said Bond girls were anti-feminist and that was not a good thing to be.
"But I thought that Bond girls were the toughest, sexiest, most fun, and, to me, they were like completely awesome. I thought, 'Bond girls are bad.'"

WTF? Uma Thurman is both attractive and talented. Hey, I'm just as much against another A-lister as a Bond girl, but if you're going to do it you might as well cast someone like Uma, who is exotic and mysterious and not cookie-cutter....
I think it could be good. But as long as she is not an agent or something like that. I think that should be given a rest. Maybe she can play a Tracy-type of character or Natalya-type.

This whole thing smells of a simple PR job.

Woman "is next Bond girl"
What a surprise. Journalism really is a skill, isn't it?

I thought Halle Berry was okay. I think the female secret agent thing is a little tired, but Halle Berry still gave it all she got or at least what the role called for. I think that as long as American actresses are used for Bond films, there will always be large pools of disappointment:
Generally, I think they (Teri Hatcher, Halle Berry, Denise Richards) did just fine. But they have all been bashed to some extent. Especially Denise, who really does not deserve it. I know I've said this before, but if she played the role of Christmas as originally written both the movie and her would not been bashed. As it is, though, she was fine. People just can't get past the fact that she is Denise Richards. Just like most critics can't get past Madonna in her own movies.
If it's not Uma, though, I would be willing to bet that it will be another American actress, probably as well-known. There's a trend here, and I don't think EON is going to reverse it. The Brosnan movies are on a winning streak, box-office-wise. They're not gonna muck about the formula.

I second that!!! Catherine Bell is like Denise Richards, but more mature. Can't lose with that.

Isn't it strange how interest in the James Bond films is so great that an if an actor or actress expresses interest in playing in a James Bond film it is considered newsworthy? Uma revealed a fantasy of hers and because it's Bond related it is reported in the papers and the Web sites as news.
I would much rather see Debbie McWilliams or the producers cast an actress because she is appropriate for the character that was created in the script. I don't want to have an actress cast based solely on the fact that adolescent boys download her image from the Internet or for no better reason than the person is considered by some to be a "sex symbol".

I'm sure there's no danger of Thurman signing herself up to the next Bond film. It's a simple wish of hers, possibly not even that, her true wish may have just been to make the news.

Don't see the Avengers movie if you haven't seen it... it's just a tad overblown. Might negatively colour your perceptions of Uma. Also give 'Batman and Robin' a wide berth, although that goes without saying.
