Oh, and after seeing this movie it is clear to me that Bond MUST return to Japan at some point. I'd love to see an entire movie set there. The Man With The Red Tattoo? Hey, I can dream, can

So a particularly dangerous female member of CBn and I saw LOST IN TRANSLATION last week (new Sofia Coppola flick with Bill Murray and Scarlett "the future Mrs. zencat" Johansson), and not only is it an EXCELLENT movie....

I'd never heard of LOST IN TRANSLATION until now, but I've just searched for info on it - coupled with your recommendation, zencat, I just can't wait to see it (not sure when it will be out in the UK). I'm a sucker for Japanese/Japan-related films anyway, and the word on this one is terrific. Thanks for the heads-up.

BTW, another excellent American-in-Japan movie: John Frankenheimer's THE CHALLENGE.

THAT would be me, incase anyone was wondering

I too highly recommend going to see "Lost in Translation" not only for the Bond references but it's a very good movie all together. Really gets your mind running, which to me is a good thing.

Yes that would be fun, but isn't Tamba in his eighties now? Also, why did he change his name to Tetsur

He is, but he still seems to be extremely busy as an actor. Check out his IMDb filmography: http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0848533/. No ABOUT SCHMIDT-style retirement for this guy!

Not only was Akiko not able to build her name in the west, but she seemed to have fallen in Japan.

Was it your friends idea to create that signature, or did you ask him to make one for you?

"snow" is a homage to an old friend of mine in college and she had the handle "snowbunny"

As ZenCat said... Bryce and him share everything.... hum, makes you wonder which one of then is really the evil agent. Bryce might not be what he seems, or maybe it's ZenCat who holds some secrets. I could blackmail both of them... muahahahahahaha!
