We all know that Sean wore a toupee during part of his run as Bond, but when exactly did he begin? He seemed to have his natural hair in Dr. No and FRWL. Did he wear a toupee in GF?

I think you are right. He had a very different hair line in GF to the first two and again in TB a different hair line (and his best head of hair in the series!). N.B. In YOLT when he dives in the sea from the fishing boat in the volcano tunnel to escape the gas you definately see a head of hair under the water more akin to Blofelds!

Actually, Connery started balding in his early 20s. He wears he toupee in every single Bond film.

Yes, what Tanger said. I've always heard that Connery wore a toupee in every film.

Did Moore wear a wig, too? It certainly looks like it in some of his Bond films.

I always thought about the hair piece when Bond was underwater and I was always very impressed as I did not see any evidence of 'it'! Even if it was not worn for these scenes, which is understandable! you would still see a bald head?

I didn't know he always wore a toupee. I could have sworn he had his own hair in Dr. No!

But I could be mistaken.

Yeah Pierce isn't balding at all. He's one of the lucky ones.

It was only very recently that I found out that Sean Connery wore a toupee in all his Bond films and I must say that I was really surprised. Up until then I thought he wore a toupee from Goldfinger onwards.

The worst Connery movie toupee-wise had to be Diamonds Are Forever...it looks like a skunk died on top of his head and smudged Sean's eyebrows in its death throes. The movie stunk, too (easily the worst Connery 007 film) so maybe there's a connection. The worst Blofeld (Charles Gray in drag--yikes!) and the beginning of the buffoonery that culminated in Moonraker.
Never Say Never Again, on the other hand, had what one reviewer of the film called an "Oscar-caliber hairpiece." And the movie was certainly an improvement over Diamonds--the best Bond film of the '80s and the best Bond villain since Goldfinger (Klaus Maria Brandauer's Largo).

Welcome to CBn, algernon. About the topic, I think his hairline changes are most noticable in Thunderball. Diamonds Are Forever (as algernon said) does not show the best side of Sean. Although people were so excited about him coming back to the role of Bond, that they probably didn't even care!
