Anyone in the US pick up season five on DVD yet? I'm waiting to hopefully find a good deal somewhere.

I just finished Season 5 on DVD. I was kind of disappointed by Season 4, thought the show was losing its touch... but Season 5 blew me away! It's right up there with 2 as a favorite for me. Yes, it's a totally different series than it was back then, but it's still fantastic. Like 4, but in stark contrast to what came before, there aren't many special features on 5 at all.

Interesting. I actually loved season four. Three was the one that depressed me at times--everything just seemed to get worse and worse with each of the leads leaving.

Definitely looking forward to #5 then!

BBC Press Office confirms the series 7 casting speculation. I think that this has the potential to keep interest in the series very much alive, when after 6 series there was a danger of interest waning.

Warning spoilers -

Anyone here also a fan of Spooks? I'm working with the BBC who have just released an online game for it at http://www.facespooks.co.uk

You can upload a photo of yourself and take part in the interactive video. Pretty cool stuff.

It's not really a game is it, you go, look for a file, then escape from the building.

Too bad Asia is so America-centric.
We get 24, LOST, Alias and Prison Break. And the US remake of The Office.
But nothing originally British. I'd love to see more of Spooks.

I suppose we should change the thread to reflect spoilers for season seven.

Well done sequence at the end of the first episode; the explosion was quite realistic and the views of smoke from around London were a nice touch. I am a little shocked that things went down that fast, I thought they would play it out for awhile.

I’m assuming that was St Sophia’s in Bayswater doubling for the Russian Orthodox church in episode one (like it did in Goldeneye)?

Been renting the series here in Japan. I found importing them from UK proved cheaper, so I went and bought all the box sets from amazon.co.uk. I just finished season 3. What a brilliant last episode, strong stuff!! I was just getting used to the cast, and now they're all gone. Got three more box sets to get through!!

I thought last nights episode would have worked very well as a Quantum plot...with the bad guy being a rogue Quantum guy actually seeking to bring down capitalism rather than just utilise it for their own gain...

I havent really enjoyed this season but Episode Seven was excellent.

Am I the only one who thinks a few of their ideas are a bit familiar?

Fine, having a character named Kaplan (North by Northwest) and an ageing retired spy named Connie (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) are cute references to classic spy stuff.

But this season we've had a character whose body is decorated with autobiographical Russian Prison tattoos (Eastern Promises) and a civilian assasinated by a sniper in a crowded train station (Bourne Ultimatum).
And forgive me if I'm wrong but in the most recent episode we had someone drowned in a bathroom sink....

Is it just me?

If you mean the bit in Liverpool Street with the guy that Lucas was trying to escort, yes: that was shocking!

And forgive me if I'm wrong but in the most recent episode we had someone drowned in a bathroom sink....

Well, it was a kitchen; and I don't think you could really class that as a lift. Lucas' car door-opening sonic screwdriver in last week's episode however.. :(

Hmmm, perhaps I'm looking too hard. Spooks is always watchable and I shouldnt let these little things spoil my entertainment.

However, if next week Harry says "Lucas, I am your father"....
