I made the executive decision that all of our avatars will be round now to match the other forum graphics. The squares always felt clunky to me.

The circles don't bother me. I'm fine with them.
But why are the Grace Jones avatars not selectable? They've been on this thread for a while, but newer ones like Yaphet Kotto can be chosen.

In addition to making the avatars circular I added nine new avatars today. Some were from those posted in this thread, some were different pictures of character/actors that were suggested here, and some were ones that I decided to add on my own. The only criteria for them becoming avatars was what I thought made the best, most Bondian images, and what I had time to do today. It had nothing to do with which have been posted here longer. Hopefully, I’ll have time to add some more soon.

I like the new round look. I agree with Mr.* about them fitting together with the other graphics. I think the one avatar that looks the best round is the MI6 logo. The square one just didn't seem right to me

Agreed. I’d say vast majority of the avatars look alot better in the circles, but some of the old ones just didn’t crop right. I did work with some of them to change the crop to fit the circle better. A few of the avatars I didn’t have access to the original art so I didn’t have much choice. I, however, was not going to take away people’s choice avatars, so these avatars stayed and I just did the best I could with what I had.
This was also the reason I didn’t use many of the pictures that were posted in this thread as suggestions. Going forward I’ll only use pictures that crop best in the circle.

Don't mean to be pushy, Mr.*, but how'd you score those Jaws, Blofeld and Shirley Eaton pictures? I would have thought they were copyright. And that Kotto picture was going to be the exact one I used.

The Richard Kiel picture is from when he was in the film Silver Streak, the first film that Kiel had metal teeth. Since the pic is in black and white, you can’t tell the teeth are really gold. And I cropped in so you couldn’t see the train.
The Shirley Eaton picture is from her Life magazine cover. (Remember, Shirley never had her eyes open while gold in the film.)
With the Donald Pleasence picture I used Photoshop to give him the scar.
