I was talking with my wife the other day about Bond 20 and the theme song. I was contemplating who would sing the song and she brought up Sade. i don't know why I didn't think of her before. I don't know if she is a big Bond fan but what a sultry sexy voice. Perfect for Bond and her international flavor (heh, heh) would score well all over. What do you think?

I can't say I know much about her but I do know of her. Is she still popular in this day and age?

Sade would be a great choice for a Bond film. Especially if they go back a bit to the early Bond films that had a touch of film noire. Sade, a sultry song and such a Bond film could be a magical combination for most Bond fans.
In my opinion the next 3 female singers to sing Bond movie titles should be (in no particular order):
-Sade
-Shirley Bassey (one more time, please)
-Annie Lennox

I agree, I mean her hits like "Smooth Operator", gives evidence that she could pull off a Bond song. Her sultry song "No ordinary love" from the movie indecent proposal sounds kinda bondish.

I agree with Blue Eyes, I've never really heard any of her songs, so I couldn't comment on her doing the title song. Maybe I'll go and investigate, look her up over the net.

Hmm, out of all the names thrown up in the forums so far - this is the first one I feel inspired about. I think she would do a superb job.
Whether it would happen? They do tend to go for flavour of the month and I can't even remember what year she was flavour of. But it would definitely be a classy choice. Good suggestion.

Bring back Shirley Bassey for Bond 20!
Its quite possible that she'll return. Think about it: Shirley sung the lyrics for the song 'History Repeating' by the Propellerheads. You can find it on their album 'Decksandrumsandrockandroll' or alternatively members in the UK might recognise it as the tune for TV sho 'So...Graham Norton'.
We know that David Arnold is scoring Bond 20 and that he has collaborated with the Propellerheads for his version of OHMSS which can be found on his 'Shaken and Stirred' album, so is it beyond the realms of possibility that Shirley Bassey will sing the title sond for Bond 20?...probably not.

As far as Sade's popularity sure she seems to take time off between projects. Primarily because she has a life outside of music. Her new album "Lover's Rock" is awesome and in the states she had a couple of top 40 hits off that album so she still has the capabilities and the voice and the name recognition to pull it off. Only question is will EON want her and will she want to do a Bond song. I think there is not questionshe could pull it off brilliantly. As far as things go Blue Eyes how can you not know any o her material she is worldwide famous and unlike alot of these up an comers she has been around for nearly twenty years. Oh by the way she is not bad on the eyes either. Would be cool if she could pull off a Sheena easton thing in FYEO where we actually see the singer!

As everyone knows now I don't want to consider any one except Shirley Bassey. But for you Sade fans I'm willing to compromise. I'm willing to have Ms. Bassey's first name spelled 'Sile'.

SADE is a great idea !. Her "Smooth Operator" is a classic. I'm not sure she suits a fast paced number that Arnold may do for Bond 20, but a slower paced closing song would suit her.
