What do you think are Roger's most cocky moments as Bond?

The one that comes immediately to mind is the backgammon scene in Octopussy. Roger as Bond really seamed to take pleasure in messing with Kamal Khan. Actually throughout the whole movie but in this scene in particular- having the real faberge egg and betting with it, using Kamal's "lucky dice" to win and not even looking at the dice when saying "Double sixes...fancy that." and finally having Kamal start to write the check out and then telling him he perfers cash.:) I love how at the end of the movie when Kamal is in the plane and thinks he's killed Bond he lets out with this laugh like finally he's gone. :)

I think my favorite Roger Moore cocky moment is when he drops the fish out of the Lotus when he pulls up on the beach.

The look he gives the crowd speaks volumes. It's sort of a combination of "waiter there is a fly in my soup" and "Do you people MIND getting off MY beach, I'm driving a submerisble car here"

Yes the OP momnet is the it. Very well played. It's scenes like that that allow me to forgive him for certain shortcomings like credibility in fight/action scenes and being too old in last 2 films...etc.Roger was great in that scene and very *Flemming*.

For me, the entire Harlem sequence in LALD is Bond at his cockiest. He's not phased by any of the threats or villains.

"Then i'll use players privldge, After all its all in the wrist's Kamal Khan."

The Lotus scene with the fish was great but i think his best one was in the jungle in octopussy when the tiger appears and he hold up his finger and goes "Sit!" the whole expresion and everyhting...vintage moore.
Or the water pistol gag in man with the golden gun...twisting her arm too.

I can think of one too in Octopussy.. the ultimate cocky roger film :)

In the begining when roger is undercover as a general and when he is sneeking in the cuban air base.. he walk in the front door.. and never sweating..never showing any fear!! Roger flips the guards unbutton shirt pocket!

now that is a cocky moment

I think Roger is at his cockiest in LALD. For the first time, Bond is portrayed completely out of his element, yet he just walks into Harlem likr he owns the freakin' place.

There's a great scene from LALD that's pictured in a 007 calendar I own. Roger's sitting in a chair with his finger about to be cut off by the henchman. Kananga is looking him straight in the eye and Roger is giving him this great "Eat ****" look. It's priceless! I keep it up just for inspiration!

how about in TMWTGG when Roger was going to fight that karate dude.. and when they bowed.. Roger kicked him in the face! Thats cocky to do that with about 25 of his friends all around you:cool:

also.. in the second fight.. he just nodded to the master..in a funny/quick/cocky way..

very funny, I always laugh at that little moment:)

If you really want to be literal, his most cocky moment is when he's just had rumpy-pumpy with Solitaire and she asks if there's "time for one more," to which he replies: "certainly, no sense in going off half-cocked."

Now that's a "cocky" moment.

What about the scene in TMWTGG when Hai Fat (sp) asks who James Bond is to 007 (posing as Scaramanga) and Bond says "And there's very few people who haven't heard of Bond...he's good, even by my standards."

Love that moment as well. Even though I rank it at the bottom of my list, it still is watchable. I also love his reactions during the kickboxing arena sequence. It's funny to me that Scaramanga thought Bond would be intimidated by a midget with a Derringer.

A lot of good moments so far. I've got another variation.

I always liked when he would give an explanation without missing a beat or finish somebody else's sentence. Like when he cuts off Dr. Goodhead about how the Moonraker can land like any conventional aircraft. Or correcting Q as to where the deadly orchid grows. Or when he solves the Stromberg clue in TSWLM. Or the many times he shows off to M or Frederick Gray his vast knowledge.

No matter the subject, he always has a handle on it. :) On the flip side of cocky, I always liked the matter-of-fact way he explains what will happen if the conductor touches the detonator while dismantling the bomb in TSWLM. "It'll go off." A great bit of underacting by Moore.
