These are the kinds of dumb action movies I love...when I'm not watching the Bond films that is. For the longest time I read rumors that they were making a sequel, but I just gave up hope eventually, I mean ****, Bad Boys was in 95! There have been three Bond films since then! Also, the rumored plotlines I had read about sucked, Bad Boys around teh World!? What? But now it looks like they got on track, and the movie actually looks to be pretty good.

The biggest news that has my curiousity piqued is that the runtime is supposedly going to be 150 minutes. 2 and a Half hours! Thats almost an hour longer than the first, hopefully they can fill the runtime, but I'm optomistic.

So, anyone else going to see this?

I'm definently going to see Bad Boys 2. I loved the first one, it was hillarious. I think Smith and Lawerence are great as partners. This one looks even better than the first one. Can't wait.

It does look better than the first, though I love the first, so it might be a bit hard to top it.

Interesting bit of trivia: Bad Boys was written with Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz in mind. Gosh, how would that have turned out!

Yeah the running times really long. I read a review of it. They said it clocks in a 2 1/2 or just under. And that they could have chopped 10 out but it didn't matter and the movie rocked.

It went on to say it's better than the first, and also most importantly faithful to the spirit and characters of the first. Awesome, i've been waiting years for this as well. The trailer looks awesome and the review I read said that how people were saying the Matrix Reloaded and T3's chases set the new benchmark for car chases should have waited for BB2. Basically they said the car chase makes the others look like kids play.

Yeh, this things gonna rock :)

Two words why the first one was bad and why I won't see this one: Michael Bay. He's King Midas in reverse, everything he touches turns to ****. As Crow T. Robot once said, his vision is "lots of shots of things."

The only thing I did'nt care for about the first BB flick was the stupid sitcom cliched way that Marcus has to pretend he's Mike Lowry, fortanetly Martin Lawrence is able to pull it off so that this portion of the plot is not really stupid, as it could have been.

P.S. I really think this is the hit that Martin Lawrence needs, lets just hope after this he stops signing on to stupid flicks!

I would have to hear amazing things about this movie to get me to see it in theaters. I like all the elements, the stars, director...but I burned out on the whole buddy cop/action genre a decade ago. Heck, I was burned out on it when the first Bad Boys came out (which is why I never saw it). But for people who like this kind of movie

I like the buddy cop movies, to an extent. I don't really care for Rush Hour, just one was enough. But movies like the Lethal Weapon movies, Bad Boys, movies that are able to have a good balance between action and comedy. The exception is Hollywood Homicide, that was great.

I enjoyed the first one, and I'll be seeing this. Smith and Lawrence make a good team (hell, I can't stand Lawrence when he's the lead role in a film anyway), and now that they've both had more experience in acting, it should be a good ride. And since Will Smith buffed up for Ali, he'll actually look like a narcotics cop this time round.

I picked up BAD BOYS in a DVD sale recently, having never seen it. My verdict? Very poor. Actually, I'd seen it all before, time and time and time again, and I'd recommend a LETHAL WEAPON, a RUSH HOUR or even a BEVERLY HILLS COP outing over BAD BOYS any day of the week. There's no panache or suspense to the action scenes (and if you thought flashy cutting marred DIE ANOTHER DAY, check out this baby - it was also edited by Christian Wagner), Tcheky Karyo's European villain is generic and dull as ditchwater, and the story totally uninteresting. Lawrence and Smith are good, but the material is awfully weak and the film lifeless.

That said, I'd like to see this new sequel. Why? Well, on the whole I like Michael Bay. THE ROCK is an enjoyable brain-in-neutral action movie, ARMAGEDDON dumb fun, and I even like PEARL HARBOR. I find it interesting that Bay would want to go back to BAD BOYS after all this time, now that he can presumably pick and choose ambitious projects. That suggests to me that he felt there was a story to tell and a really good picture to be made. It's clear that he's learned a great deal about putting together eye-popping action scenes since the first BAD BOYS (putting them together coherently, that is), and I'm expecting BAD BOYS II to be far superior to its predecessor and much more than a cash-in rehash.

This is twice as better as the first film was. However this film was also very violent/gory. When they showed someone getting shot in the head in this movie, they didn't hold back, they showed it. I had to turn my head away once because this was done several times. Also, in the ending of the movie (i'm not gonna say who) after being shot in the head, this body falls backwards onto a landmine and explodes. They show the body exploding. This film really is on the borderline of being NC-17 because of the violence, but luckily its R. However, I can't imagine what they had to tone down to make it R, it would be interesting to see an uncut verison come out on DVD, like the rated X verison of Robocop. Gory stuff aside, I thought this was a great movie, and right now is the best movie so far this summer, even better than Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines.

What a ridiculous, stupid movie. It's got a few good action sequences, but is overly violent, has way too much language, and is based on a plot about as thin as a piece of paper. Pirates of the Caribbean retains its title as best movie of the summer.

Hey Hey, I said best action film of the summer, not best film. I'm in total agreement that POTC is the best flim of the summer :)

But come on! Overly violent, paper thin plot, lots and lots of language. What did you expect from this movie? I think the previews made it pretty darn clear what this movie was going to be about.

I saw Bad Boys 2 for free and still feel ripped off. The plot was thin but that's not what ruined it. The humor was Naked Gun like yet unfunny(how's rats having sex funny?) and the action was cartoonishly bad and cheesy(CGI was used way too much for a cop movie). If it was non stopped well done action with no purpose, the movie would have been justified but the action was Charlie Angels like. The first bad boys was like a bad episode of Miami Vice. Bad Boys 2 was just a bad movie filmed in Miami. The only good things it had were one or two laughs from Martin and Dan Marino's cameo. I give it a 2.5/10 but it wasn't as unbearable as Charlies Angels 2. I think National Security with Martin Lawrence was much more entertaining.
