IF HE TOLD YOU THAT HE WAS GOING TO SAVE THE WORLD

Kane steps out of a bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waste.
He is cute. Tanned and Muscular. He drops the towel ...

WOULD YOU BELIEVE HIM ?

WE DIDN'T THINK SO

Kane looks across at The Chairman:

Chairman: Have a nice time.

Kane: I will. Even if it kills me.

TO DIE LIKE A GENTLEMAN

Kane:
That just wouldn't be cricket.

STARRING:

SEANN WILLIAM SCOTT AS JONATHAN KANE

Kane: And you are ?

MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ AS LOLA THRUSTING

Lola: Lola Thrusting. My enemies call me Lola.

SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR AS TANIA TORGERSON

Kane: And your friends ?

BENICIO DEL TORO AS CHARLES ARMITAGE

Lola: I have no friends.

AND JET LI AS MR. DRAGON

Kane: I find that hard to believe.

COMING SOON TO THIS MESSAGE BOARD

Jonathan Kane is a character outside the Bond universe - heavily influenced by Bond but not in that reality. The script was written by myself in conjunciton with a friend for a university project and we thought that you guys might enjoy it.

Feel free to ask questions and I will respond as best as I can:

Title: UNKNOWN

Hugh Jackman as Bond

Jennifer Garner as Major Savannah Robinson
Beyonce Knowles as Mirage

Fann Wong as Doctor Kitty Tang

Michael Madsen as Falco
Michelle Yeoh as Wai Lin
Halle Berry as Jinx

Robert Patrick as Colonel Sean Moore

Sean Connery as Edward Knight

Jet Li as Koi
Jason Statham as Richter

Directed by Lee Tamahori

Composed by Edward Shearmur
THEMETUNE sung by Robbie Williams

Written by John Logan and Tom Clancy

Locations:

- London
- Florida
- Hong Kong
- Tokyo / Hokkaido
- Vancouver
- St. Latrelle
- Space

Plot:

Two satellites and a space shuttle are destroyed and Bond is assigned to join the upcoming Operation Excalibur. He meets Savannah but fails to stop the destruction of the Excalibur yet uncovers the traitor that planted the bomb on the shuttle - Colonel Sean Moore. Moore directs Bond to Knight AeroNautics so Bond goes to Hong Kong with Savannah and teams up with Wai Lin where he discovers something known as the Beholder will be launched. He's captured but escapes and heads across to Japan where he meets with Doctor Tang who reveals the nature of the Beholder. Tang is killed and Bond kills Koi before going to Vancouver where Knight is taking reciept of the Beholder. Bond and Savannah are captured and the true use of the Beholder is revealed - Knight has been destroying intelligence satellites and will launch his own and auction off the intelligence to the highest bidder. Savannah is taken along with the Beholder by Knight to a secret location. Bond escapes capture and kills Mirage before getting the assistance of Jinx and Falco to find Savannah and the Beholder. After Bond breaks onto the island, kills Richter and attempts to halt the launch of the Beholder, the adventure heads into space for a stunning zero gravity fight, the death of Knight and finally the destruction of the Beholder. Bond and Savannah ride the shuttle to a landing at Andrews AirForce Base ...

Only problem ? I can't think of a title !

It's under the dodgy working title of 'A Space for Danger' at the moment but I'm considering ColdStorm or Eye of the Beholder ( in the former, the name of the satellite would become ColdStorm ). Does anyone have any suggestions for titles ?

"Eye of the Beholder" sounds really good. Or perhaps a play on the villian's name? "Knight's Gambit",... something chess-y?

Eye of the Beholder is a Ewan McGregor film. I like the idea for a chess title, maybe Checkmate or even just something simple like Wondrous to Behold

It's Michelle Yeoh, actually. And just because you thought she was boring doesn't mean everybody else does.

Cool story terminus. I look forward to reading it. And as for titles, I really like the suggested 'Eye Of The Beholder'. Here are some of mine:

Samuelkevler, u r from New Zealand - so u r bound to find Michele Yeoh exciting. Like watching sheep being sheared.

Your suggested titles are ALL cliches. U still haven't answered why u have felt the need to use Hong Kong AGAIN?

I moved to New Zealand a couple of years ago. I'm originally from the Netherlands. And I don't have any particular interest in sheep.

Why are you so antagonistic? Yes, my proposed titles were cliches. That was my point.

And I never commented on the use of Hong Kong.

So take a chill pill and try to use normal spelling. Cheers. :)

Ok. I got bored - watched the trailer for LXG and began wondering what the present day LXG would look like. I came up with a list of the five possible members that I think would be in the modern LXG -

James Bond ( Pierce Brosnan )
Lara Croft ( Angelina Jolie )
Matthew Van Helsing ( Christopher Plummer )
The Phantom ( Billy Zane )
Indiana Jones ( Harrison Ford )

Plot ?

An assault by mysterious masked assassins on Croft Towers sends Lara Croft to MI6 to enlist the aide of M - a friend of her fathers - who asks Bond to help Lara. Bond and Lara end up at Van Helsing Antiques when Lara recieves a letter ( from her father ) indicating that Van Helsing has been holding an object for her. Van Helsing reveals that Lara's father and her fathers mentor - the famed Indiana Jones - had discovered the location of the fabled Fountain of Youth which was hidden somewhere in Croft Towers. Lara realises that this must be what the masked assassins stole during their assault ... and the same masked assassins assault the office where Van Helsing reveals his true nature ( he has been using the blood of Dracula to grant him longevity and super strength ) and assists Bond and Lara in beating up the assassins before helping them escape into the catacombs below his office. Van Helsing reveals that the journal revealing the location of the Fountain of Youth has been offered up for auction in Bombay so the trio treks there and there, Lara encounters an old flame, Cal Walker, heir of Walker International ( and The Phantom ). Bond breaks into the auction house where he steals the journal before being discovered by henchmen and then ably assisted by The Phantom ( who Bond recognises as Cal Walker ) escapes. With the journal in hand, Bond, Lara, Cal and Van Helsing head back to their respectives countries. But, in flight, Bond, Lara and Van Helsing's plane is hijacked and forced to land at an abandoned airstrip somewhere in the middle east. Cal has already been abducted and is already there and we learn that Blofield is behind the series of events ( though not the stealing of the journal, only the abductions ). He requires Lara and Van Helsing to decrypt the journal - it's been encoded by Lara's father. Meanwhile, it's up to Bond and Cal to plan their escape from the airstrip. Lara and Van Helsing piece together that the location of the Fountain of Youth is somewhere in the Rio Negro ( in the Amazon ). Meanwhile, Indiana Jones, who has been guarding the Fountain itself ( and has been given longevity and age reduction ... he he he ... ) learns that the journal has been stolen and, using some sort of charm he learns that the journal is in the Middle East. He sets out there ... just as Blofield learns about the location of the Fountain and heads to the Rio Negro. Indiana helps the other four escape - barely missing out on stopping Blofield as well and it is Bond who gets transport for the fivesome ( on an airship no less ) to the Rio Negro ...

Indiana: It's going to take a league of men to stop him.
Van Helsing: A league of gentlemen ...
The Phantom: A league of extraordinary gentlemen ...
Lara: ... and women.
Bond: Indeed.

( and that's as far as I got )

Who would you have in the modern LXG ? What mission would you send them on ? How would you modify my storyline for that matter ?

Note, this probably won't get written, it's just a concept for pure fun :)

I want to hate this, but it does actually seem quite good fun.

I'd have Doctor Who in it, but that's just me.

Napoleon Solo, Hannibal Lecter, John Steed, Buffy (ugh), bloke out of Highlander, Raffles, Sam Spade, Sherlock were all popular choices on another board.

LXG is contemporary with Sherlock Holmes - his brother gives them their orders. I did put Buffy in a very early outline but then thought she didn't quite gel with the other characters. Hannibal Lecter would be cool - the Dr. Jeckyll / Mr. Hyde of the group as it were.

Napoleon Solo might be an interesting choice, as would John Steed, but I'd put Steed in a 1960's LXG.

Perhaps a 1960 LXG would be:

John Steed - the Spy
Indiana Jones - the Hunter
Hannibal Lecter - the Beast
Duncan McLeod - the Immortal
Emma Peel - the Scientist
??? - the Rogue
Matthew Van Helsing - the Vampire

can ya give me a link to this other board, please ?

Terminus... nice piece of work. I visualize a lot of quick cuts, action, and of course, explosions. I'm looking forward to reading more. Not a bad title either.

One minor quibble, though... since Jonathan Pryce has already played the villain in a Bond film, aren't you afraid readers will be seeing "Elliot Carver" when they picture "Edward Knight"?

I had an idea - if you were given the chance to go back in time and create a Bond movie surplus to the ones we've already got ( ie you can create a movie, but you can't ignore a later one or an earlier one ) then what would you do ? Here's my concept for the movie ...

SILVERMOON ( 1976 )

Roger Moore :as: James Bond

Jaclyn Smith :as: Gala Brand
Diana Ross :as: Tiffy

David Hedison :as: Felix Leiter

Louis Jordan :as: Magnus Silvermoon

Themetune Sung By: Diana Ross

Locations: Jamaica, Scotland, London

Plotline:

M has discovered that Magnus Silvermoon has been meeting with terrorists. Silvermoon is a respected industrialist with residences in Jamaica, Scotland and France.

Bond is briefed by M and assigned to investigate Silvermoon.

He goes to Jamaica and telephones Felix Leiter. Leiter reveals that the place most frequented by Silvermoon is a casino.

Bond meets a local woman ( Tiffy ) who runs the casino for Silvermoon and Gala Brand who works for Silvermoon as his Personal Assistant. He challenges Silvermoon to a shooting competition and Silvermoon looses and offers Bond a job, promising decent wages, danger and excitement after Bond reveals that he is now a mercenary.

Bond learns that Silvermoon is meeting with terrorists and buying pieces of atom bombs which he then smuggles into the UK in the stomachs of foreign tourists.

He also learns that Gala is working undercover for the Americans.

Bond joins Silvermoon and Gala at a house at Thunderbird Point. Another exchange is being made which Bond tries to stop by telling Silvermoon that the terrorist is actually a secret agent known as James Bond. Gala tries to help Bond ( believing that he has been exposed ) and she nearly blows his cover. Bond teases her but they do not make love, she tells him that she is engaged.

Silvermoon has discovered that Gala is an undercover operative but has no idea that Bond is also an undercover operative. Silvermoon ties Gala to the train tracks with his train steaming towards her. Bond fights with Silvermoon and his henchmen, stops the train and saves Gala.

Silvermoon disappears. Bond and Leiter question Gala and discover that he has boarded a plane to America. Leiter orders his agents to look for Silvermoon whilst Bond and Gala recuperate ...

- the story would lead to Scotland where Bond would be investigating with Gala and get captured and tortured. They would have to chase to London where Silvermoon will have placed the completed atom bomb on the train which he will then drive into the middle of London. Bond would have to be lowered from a helicopter onto the train where he would be able to fight Silvermoon, kill him and diffuse the bomb. He's met by Gala who gives him a kiss on the cheek and Leiter who jokes that Bond will always get his girl ...

And then the credits would roll.

What would your period movie be if you could stick a movie into the series ?

I'd pick up after Licence to Kill (1991) and do an adventure with 007 (Dalton) still operating as a 'rogue' agent, before his reconciliation with MI6. I'd have him remain in Latin America doing a services for hire mission while MI6 is still after him.I would have General Puskin in the film, and make him a very important character.I'd also keep Pam Bovier in it but introduce new sexy women but not soldier babes(I'm tired of Bond girls who kick ***!). I would have the film set in Argentina, Punta de este-Uruguay, Brazil and Russia.

1968 - George Lazenby's first outing as Bond.

007 IN NEW YORK

An excuse to use the Fleming short story, would also add another Lazenby picture into the franchise. I'd have this be his first and OHMSS his second, because DAF's beginning follows his (lame)'quest for revenge' and to put one in between the two would add more confuzzlement.
