Well the title pretty much explains it all.

As for my favorite, hmmm let's see. The first thing that comes to mind is the one in Goldfinger in the pre-title sequence (#5 on the GF soundtrack).

Mine is probably the one from Live and Let Die. The one from GoldenEye and Die Another Day are good also.

First of all, welcome to CBn bond111! I dont believe I've seen you round before, hope to see ya round more!

My fave versions (in no order) would have to be "Bond Back In Action Again" (the cue you're referring to, 111) in Goldfinger, The John Barry Orchestra version (not the Monty Norman orchestra version), the swing Bond Theme heard in Tomorrow Never Dies as Bond slides along the trolley on his stomach while escaping from the printing press in Hamburg, the effort by Starr Parodi and Geoff Fair used in the GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies trailers, and lastly David Arnold's remix during the end credits of The World is not Enough!

The Bond Theme works best when there's a gradual build up to it, or when its timed perfectly with a piece of action, my favourites are:

TWINE pre-titles, once when he jumps out of the window of the bankers office and again during the boat chase; TWINE end titles; TND during the car chase and again during the bike chase (and the escape from the printing press); LTK when Bond pulls the wheelie in the truck and in DAD during the hovercraft chase.

It's just a cool piece of music that I never tire of listening to.

I'd forgotten about the moments in Kamen's score! yes, the Licence to Kill is fairly boring if it were not for the little moments of the Bond theme, they're excellent.

I think I might be slightly mentally unhinged, because no matter how much i listen to the theme, I can't get enough of it, and I HUNT OUT differing versions of it.

I like it when the Bond theme is being played just to accompany Bond himself when he's not in an action scene, such as the original theme in Dr. No, and in TND when he drives to MI6 and arrives in Hamburg (4. Company Car-unforgettable). The original theme and David Arnold's non-techno theme in TND are my very favorite, followed by Arnold's techno themes in DAD and TWINE. I would also say OHMSS, minus the sinthesizer substituting the guitar, because it feels SO dated that way. I'm not much of a fan of Barry's theme for MR, OP, AVTAK, and TLD, because it feels too light, but perfect to accompany Moore's Bond.

Parodi Fair's version used in the Brosnan Bond film trailers is a good one. I like the ones Bill Conti used in FYEO and how Arnold used it in TND and TWINE (haven't seen DAD so I can't comment on that).

My favorite rendition done by Barry is, no doubt, the rendition used in TLD. I think Barry went into the "synth-techno" phase at just the right time...

Connery Era: Amsterdam Intro in DAF

OHMSS: Lazenby's introduction

Moore Era: LALD, MR Pretitle sequence

Dalton Era: LTK pretitle, also the finale since it's the same music.

Brosnan Era: TND when Bond enters Hamburg.

Moby's Bond theme mix (Tomorrow Never Dies)

The Live and Let Die version

I rather enjoyed Barry's theme in TLD, especially the scene in Gibraltar, with Bond riding on top of the truck, he sort of added a little "techno" into the music.

I still like Moby's version, as well.

My favourite is one that hasn't been used in a movie. It's the one that David Arnold did to go on David McAlmont's Diamonds Are Forever single. Try and track it down and check it out it really is great.

The DAD one is good, but my favorite is the one played over the end credits of TWINE. It's extremely cool.

I love the pretitle sequence for LALD, it has its ochestra and its disco and its something i can move to BABY, OH YEA. Also the LTK has powerful rymthm and its destructive with its heavy percussioned drums. WOW its cool. Then YOLT has an interesting one, its very melodic to me, but has a bond theme element included so it has quite a nice touch, i like it.

I think the version from the DAF gunbarrel is the best. It combines the classic guitar with a lush orchestral background; very cool. I'm also quite fond of the TND version. Love how the music changes right at the gunshot. (e.g. BANG! da-da da daaa, DA-DA DA DAAA, etc.)

Nice thread. I'm definitely going for:

- the Bond theme fragment in "Stalking the Stealth" during TND's finale
- TWINE End Titles
- Arnold's version on the Diamonds Are Forever single

I think that my favorite James Bond theme has to be "James Bond with Bongos" in From Russia with Love.

There are also other renditions of the James Bond theme that I am fond of as well. Such as:

"Bond 77" from The Spy Who Loved Me

GoldenEye Trailer by Parodi/Faire

"Submarine" from For Your Eyes Only

But if you asked me this question tomorrow, I might have a different response. I really enjoy all of the renditions of the James Bond theme, even the George Martin and Micheal Kamen arrangements.

I forgot to mention the cue when Bond rapelles down the Swiss bank in the pre-title sequence of TWINE. There are certain moments of a Bond film when the theme kicks in at just the right moment, and the hair at the back of your neck stands up, and you can't help but think "This is the greatest action hero of all time".

Tomorrow Never Dies, is various spots, and most definitely the James Bond explodingonto the screen in the precredits of The Spy Who Loved Me and Goldfinger.

The Goldfinger version. Goldeneye is also very exciting, as is LTK's. The weakest must be MWTGG's.

I wish they'd used Moby's Bond theme for the opening credits of TOMORROW NEVER DIES.

I personally think it's the second weakest I've heard, with Shaken and Stirred's track of it taking the cake. Surrender should have been used in the maintitles for Tomorrow Never Dies, considering its constant use in the actual score.

I wish Oakenfold's version was used in place of Madonna's piece of garbage

Three favourite's spring to my mind at this particular moment. The Bond 77 theme, the Goldfinger version, and Moby's Bond theme. I always enjoy listening to them, especially the Bond 77 theme whenever I am watching the classic ski chase in the pre-title sequence of The Spy Who Loved Me. Sends a shiver down my spine every time.

Parodi/Fair Goldeneye Bond theme comes at #1 for me. Second place goes to Moby's Tommorrow Never Dies rendition. Bond Versus Oakenfold grows on you, and the one from Everything or Nothing absolutely sucks. It had potential :)

Oh, and the one from TWINE in the opening sequence and credits is really good, too. It's my brother's favourite version. :)
