Sir Denis Thatcher, who, among other achievements, became a character in FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, along with his wife, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, has died.

Hey, you think I'd be announcing his death to CBn otherwise?

I may disagree with Margaret Thatchers politics, but my condolences go to the Thatcher family.

Absolutely. I feel exactly the same way. It's sad when anyone dies, and, besides, I've never read anything bad about Sir Denis. He seems to have been a very interesting and amusing chap.

My condolences to the Thatcher Family, especially Baroness Margaret.

I am not agree with her politics either, but she was a true friend to the US, an extraordinary woman, and she deeply loved her husband, and he her, which is rare in political circles.

Rest in peace sir.

Those lookalikes also appeared in a play about the Thatchers' lives together, which was an interesting fact I gleaned off Channel 4 News.

He was the rock behind Thatcher, always three paces behind.
Rest In Peace, Denis

That scene in FYEO always was an odd ball. If you look at Denis in the kitchen, he smiles towards us! why? where is the camera? The coversation is by telephone. Presumably they are alone in that kitchen, if it is not us he is supposed to be smiling at, then who?
