he did it allot and the best!!
What is your favorite.. which would have the most tension for you
1) Octopussy: That is amazing editing.. not just defusing the bomb..but getting there, stealing a car.. then going undercover as a clown.. I LOVE when the General says "Quiet everyone.. QUIET!!" I get goosebumbs ((( I actually feel the tension more in trying to get there on time.. the editing is pure genius )))
2) TSWLM: I think this is the best for straight tension of actually defusing the bomb.. when they had the magnetic seal on it.. WOW!!! Roger is soooo great in his close ups.. when he has to show concern/tension.
3) AVTAK: Mayday has allot of credit for this one.. but the tension is great! How she helps Roger and lowers him and he trusts her!! then Roger's close up begging her to jump off.. and not die..
what are your thoughts

hey I forgot all about that...
I think roger was the best at the tension!!
Tim was kinda bland..
Sean I really only remember goldfinger?? correct and that was supposed to be a joke..
and Turn called it right... Pierce needed Christmas's help?

This would be my favorite too. Roger played it just right where it feels very real that the bomb may go off. Great acting by him.

Yes well the people who are making the Pierce Bonds seem to have no knowledge of the Bond canon (another reason I don't really care for them). In addition to the TWINE scene where Christmas lectures Bond on how to defuse the Bond there is also the scene where he doesn't understand the Chinese typewriter in TND (which contradicts dialogue in 1967s YOLT.
Perhaps this is proof that all the actors play a different person with the code name "James Bond" (as many people believe). That's certainly more understandable (and plausible) than 007 suddenly forgetting his oriental language training or how to defuse a nuclear bomb.
(I don't subscribe to that theory, but many people do).

That's the theory that was brought up in Feldmann's Casino Royale. It would indeed make many things plausible, but I, too don't like it.Originally posted by DLibrasnow

The TSWLM defusing scene is also my favourite. In the German version, we get a little extra joke that isn't (as far as I remember) in the English version (correct me if I'm wrong): when Bond explains that he mustn't touch the magnetic rim, the Captain asks what will happen if he does. Bond answers: "Then we won't need a coffin..."

Yes the dialogue in the English version is something along the lines of -- 'It'll go off" or "It'll blow up".
My favorite defusing scene is also TSWLM...
The theory that "James Bond" is only a code name does hold up more than the theory he is one and the same person.
