I went to a book signing yesterday where the author said he makes $2.00 from every book sold. That from a book that retails for $27.95. Actually, I have no idea if this is a good or bad deal. It's the first time I've ever heard an author admit what he makes.
But it got me thinking... I wonder what Benson and Gardner made? Heck, I wonder what J.K. Rowling makes off the Harry Potter books?
Does anyone have any insight?
What kind of $$$ do authors make?

There's the advance and the sales percentage, usually about 8%.
