Sorry, I'm a little sensitive about this for obvious reasons.

It only takes a writers' strike to prove that the script is all important because everything grinds to a halt. EVERYTHING!

The stuff that does come out during a writers strike is also terrible.

Well that, and also "Star Trek: The next Generation" Season Two which was produced during a writers strike is generally considered the worst of all the TNG Trek seasons.

Regarding OHMSS, Peter Hunt said at a 1994 Convention in LA that the first cut of OHMSS was 3 1/2 hours long. THAT's the version I want to see.

Yes, thank you stromberg. I have the VHS, but I'd love it on DVD. Thanks. :)

You're welcome, folks. Thought that this was general knowledge.

I got my copy earlier this year (thanks to the help of doublenoughtspy, as I have no paypal acount). I found it to be quite interesting, not as bad as most people think. It takes a few minutes to get used to the quality, but it's not too bad, considering that it comes from a Betamax tape that is about 25 years old. Highly recommended.

Considering Cubby Broccoli hated the thing and hit the roof back in 1976, it's doubtful we'll ever see this anywhere but on a bootleg video. Kind of like the Bond series version of the Star Wars Holiday Special, though not nearly as painful.

I suppose some of you chaps like the ABC version of YOLT, where the capsule gets captured after the title sequence.
