Here's a question for any of you who saw You Only Live Twice in theaters back in the summer of 1967. Did you know in advance that this was going to be Connery's last Bond? Did you think this would be the last Bond ever? I read an essay over at Dr. Shatterhand's Garden about a guy who saw it when he was 7 yrs old then. I have the expanded soundtrack playing in the car cd player today, and it got me to thinking.
You Only Live Twice: The Last James Bond movie?

I saw the film in the theatre when I was 9. I had read that Connery was leaving the series (yes, I was a Bond junkie then too). It dampened the fun of seeing the film, as it was unclear at that point if Bond would continue to grace the screen (not to mention that it was the weakest entry up to that date in the series). I will have to read the essay at Dr. Shatterland's Garden.
