During a screening of TSWLM in Australia they played a VISA card add starring Pierce Brosnan. Pierce is trying to navigate gridlock Hongkong traffic in a stretch limo and he is late so he jumps into a three wheeled taxi. The taxi driver takes one look at Pierce and goes to himself "Mr Bond"! and of course takes off like there is no tomorrow - there follows take offs of the motorcycle jump from TND, the pipe scene from TWINE, and Pierce feet in the air bouncing around the back off the taxi like he did in the parking lot chase in TND while doing Remington Steele impersonations ten to the dozen. Everyone looked like they were really having fun and Pierce particularly looked like he was playing Remington Steele playing Pierce Brosnan playing James Bond playing red indians.
They also showed a cute jaguar add where the voice over guy is describing the features of the car, but gets a bit stumped by the machine guns and rocket launchers popping out all over the place. He finally ends up by saying that these extras are not particularly useful UNLESS you ARE planning world domination.
Very cute spoofs...
And while watching The Spy Who Loved Me - doesn't the part where Annya is tied to the couch in Stromberg's headquarters remind you of the part in Casino Royale when "Beautiful, but no stamina" 007 is tied up in Jimmy Bond's lair? What occured to me that was odd about this was: The spoof did it first? Who is spoofing who?
Mr Bond will pay with his VISA card

It's a hoot. Enjoy! Too bad it's not in a clearer format.
This is the commercial he went to Bangkok to film last fall for a DAD tie-in.

I really like the fact that Pierce is willing to have a laugh at himself by doing things like this. Pierce has done some really great commercials and it's just too bad that they aren't seen in the US.

If they ever redid some of the documentaries on the DVDs, I wouldn't mind seeing the old Diet Coke commercials he did in the late '80s after he didn't get the Bond role the first time. Those were fun and they would show he wasn't so bitter about being screwed out of the role that he couldn't play similar roles.

Turn, interestingly according to the James Bond Legacy tome the second Diet Coke commerical (both premiered during successive Super Bowl broadcasts) where he was fighting Ninjas aboard a moving train (wearing a tuxedo of course) was pulled under threat of legal action by EON. So I kind of doubt EON will be putting them on their discs any time soon even if they could get the rights. A pity because they were both very well produced and great fun (and I think he got paid as much or more to do them then he got for GE!)

It's about time the rest of the world got something America didn't!
~LoL~ I love that ad, and it's even better because they stopped showing it for a while although now it's back albiet a little cut, and since the cricket is always on in my house I don't ofen miss the ad!
