Anyone else notice the lack of Michael G Wilson at the Spectre press launch? Has anyone heard anything about Michael's involvement, is Barbara Broccoli taking more of a leading role with this film, or was he simply just unable to attend?
Michael G Wilson and Spectre?

His absence could be due to anything really, but let's hope he's in good health.

Of course he will have his cameo as Blofeld himself at the end of the movie.
So that's the reason they didn't introduce him yesterday. ;-)
But seriously I hope he is in good health. This was the first 007 kick off media event, where he wasn't present.

He probably read on here that there wasn't going to be a press conference.

Yeah, it's been worrying me a little. I hope he's well.
He's 72 now and he's described the last two Bond experiences as "exhausting" (especially QoS) so I wouldn't be surprised if he's stepping down from the whole promotional racket. Hopefully it's nothing to do with him being ill.

I heard that Michael G. Wilson was invited to an Aston Martin event during the SPECTRE announcement.

I think his son is taking over...72 is not exactly ancient but he's been doing this gig a really long time and there's been lots of ups and downs along the way especially with the lawsuits and delays..etc. If he's retiring he ssure went with a bang having the first Billion dollar film with the 50th anniversary.

He's not retiring as he is credited as the producer of SPECTRE in the press release.
But I could imagine, that he will step back for sure after Craig's turn as Bond is over.

Holy smokes! I can't believe he's 72. Time keeps marching on I guess.

This can be several reasons. Maybe feeling under weather, for which I hope he's in good health, be a shame to lose him. Or he might have been busy with the development behind the scenes. Possibly planning scenes and locations and whatnot while Sam and Barbara and announce the film. Or maybe he just didn't want to go haha.

Does this mean SPECTRE is a division of the Carver Media Group?

Do you really think that Ernst Stavro Blofeld would be answering to Elliot Carver? I think even Dr. Kauffman would be laughing at that one.
