4300 names? Grooms, brides, skeletons, hombre puppets?
What the heck is this? A carnival scene? A mass wedding?

1574 names - I believe the the 4300 is an identification number for Erik Olsson, if you look at the coloured numbers, they're not consecutive.

It could be similar to the Thunderball Mardi Gras sequence. Lots of extras mingling around floats and that type of thing, with an action sequence taking place around it.

Just read that this was a
Spoilersequence. I'm digging it. Between the Junkanoo in TB and the Rio carnival in MR, it's been a while since we've had one of these, and it seems to go well (or at least traditionally) with a Bond actor's fourth film.

Very true, very good point.

Apparently the production will be moving here now that DC has finished filming in Rome, so we should be getting some reports coming in.

Thanks! Loads of good information there. They're apparently turning a building which used to house Mexico's senate into a hotel structure.Preparations are underway for filming in Mexico City:

Filming is scheduled from 20-24 March. They'll be filming in the Historical District, parts of which have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and have worked to get the appropriate approvals.

Those constitute heavy spoilers?
And isn't this the spoiler section, anyhow?
In general I am inclined to assume that those who attend this section aren't afraid to be spoiled, but - you how it is, Harmsway - prudence is never enough.

I was going to post this in the "Stephanie Sigman" thread, but that's reserved for spoiler-free disussion. People over there are speculating on what sort of role Sigman will play, whether she'll be a station agent like Fields or a sacrificial lamb or a Natalya-type bystander. Will 007 go to bed with her? That link posted yesterday by Luigi contained a hint, and a story appeared today in EL PAIS that sheds some more light on the matter. Cuidado! Spoilers ahead.
Stephanie Sigman is already being described in the news stories as "the first Mexican Bond girl". I just hope they aren't overselling the significance of her role. As Vesper would say, there are Bond girls and Bond girls. Ursula Andress was a Bond girl. So was Tonia Sotiropoulou. It's too early to know where Sigman will fall on that spectrum. I just really hope they don't stuff her in el dumpstero. They've been relying on the "martyred cutie" trope way too often during the Craig era.

Why does Bond always need to rely on excessive product placement when, say, Transformers or Marvel don't?

I don't see a connection between these pieces and product placement (unless ones assumes that Black Death vodka could even remotely be Bond's vodka of choice - instead of ... what's it this time? ... Belvedere).
As for the rest, thanks JC...
