The interrogation scene in THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS between Bond and Pushkin in the hotel room. Not only the best moment of Dalton's tenure, but the best moment of the entire franchise.

I agree this is one of the best moments in Bond film history. I also really like the opening scene in Bratislava.

Dalton had so many great moments I cannot decide on just one.
But there´s one moment in particular which I don´t think any other Bond actor has been given (and pulled off so effortlessly) so far. In LTK, in the scene in which he says goodbye to Della and Felix and turns back when Tracy is alluded to... Dalton really captures hurt and melancholy in one sad smile. Wonderful. Acting which seems so easy but really only the great ones can do.

Couldn't agree with you more. That was an awesome moment, and like you said only the great actors can pull that off. Dalton made that look effortless.Dalton had so many great moments I cannot decide on just one.

I love Dalton movies and I think my favourite scene is in The Living Daylights : the meeting with Pushkin is very intense. The death of Saunders is an excellent moment too, for exemple when I burst the ballon.
With Dalton, John Glen showed that he was a good director, he totally changed his way to make Bond films.

I just love when he says "you're going to have to find yourself a new lover' and then walks outside and shoots laughing boy with the spear gun for killing Sharkey.

Stuff my orders! I only kill professionals. That girl didn't know one end of a rifle from the other. Go ahead. Tell M what you want. If he fires me, I'll thank him for it. Whoever she was, it must've scared the living daylights out of her.

Wow! All of these are great moments and they make me want to have a Dalton-marathon tonight on TV!
But, to add a 'moment' that hasn't been mentioned - my personal favorite is a brief scene in the pre-titled sequence in License To Kill during the runway shoot-out action where Dalton's 'action-ready' stance just seemingly emerges from out of the ground. It lasts all of one or two seconds, but It's right before he approaches Lupe in the jeep. I know this is more of a 'camera-angle' thing rather than an example of his dialogue or action, but I remember thinking to myself in the theater, "Damn! That was a cool shot!" And, it is one that, when I think of Dalton's tenure, is as iconic moment as the other great examples that have been mentioned in the above posts.
Oh, I almost forgot! The "flying carpet" scene in The Living Daylights "deleted scenes" was pretty cool too! (Just kidding! - Sorry, I couldn't resist)
P.S. One cool thing about Dalton - he could sure deliver a cheesy line (like it being a "Call to arms" (groan!) while being reprimanded by M at the Hemmingway House) and make it seem as if was written by the Bard himself! Given the recent 'serious-tone' of the Craig era, Dalton was clearly a Bond before his time. Casting Dalton as 007 in the late-eighties was akin to asking Brando to take over the role of Captain Kangaroo!

I have always found Dalton to be quite an interesting Bond, because for every two great scenes he pulls a few over-the-top, or even awkward moments as an actor. Maybe it is his stage acting experience but I found him to overemphasize his acting on several occassions. I won't go into specifics but perhaps a few of you know what I am saying.
As for a great moment, my favorite is after he sets Sanchez on fire. I may not be good at describing the moment but he looks exhausted both physically and mentally. He looks like he is about to break down crying out of relief of ending the whole mission. It's that moment when after a tramatic experience and things settle down that causes people to break down crying.
It is similar to the way Craig looks as he cleans himself up after the stairway fight in Casino Royale. The emotions take over after a tramatic experience. I'm not sure but perhaps it is the way our bodies release after a massve adrenaline rush during a flight or fight moment.

Dalton & Craig are by far the best to play Bond although that'll debatable depending on which generation or style Bond you like. But the comparison is Craig to Dalton lolI agree that the final scene with Sanchez in LTK is Dalton's best"Don't you want to know why?"<br />I also think it is interesting that we seem to compare Dalton to Craig on a regular basis.<br />(even more than Connery?)<br />I've posted before that I've always felt that Dalton was ahead of his time. He read Fleming to understand how he should portray 007

A great moment - he conveys so much hurt, compassion and ultimate emotion in that film for James Bond as a human; it's superb.
I also love in 'The Living Daylights' is Daltons' first task as a sniper helping Koskov escape. He looks and eminates an ice-cold professional, and his conversation with Saunders is great. Couple that with a chilling musical score, it's a rather brilliant introduction to this new breed of tactical, professional secret agent.
Oh...and Dalton's reveal to camera in the 'TLD' pre-titles is subtly epic too...!

"Don't you want to to know why?"
This dialogue is more concise and to the point than the novelization (and perhaps script?) so I'm thinking Dalton, as good actors do, hashed out the lines with Robert Davi (Sanchez) during the shoot.
As for a great moment, my favorite is after he sets Sanchez on fire. I may not be good at describing the moment but he looks exhausted both physically and mentally. He looks like he is about to break down crying out of relief of ending the whole mission. It's that moment when after a traumatic experience and things settle down that causes people to break down crying.
This was the first time in the series I felt the spirit of Fleming's literary page onscreen. (And SPY, you described the moment perfectly.)
Also from LTK, the exasperated sigh Dalton lets out when he first sees Felix after the Shark attack, and then the relief glimpsed upon learning he's alive just before the coldness takes over as his plan for vengeance sets in. And all conveyed without a word of dialogue.

My favourite Bond actor, and so many moments to chose from. let's see:
- In the Pre-titles sequence, that brief encounter with the lady in the boat.
- Bond interrogating Pushkin.
- The death of Saunders scene is also amazing.
- Bond's resignation scene in LTK.
- That scene with Felix and Della that other users talked about.
He was a great Bond it's really difficult to chose just one moment.
