Your opinions? Is it a worthy 50th anniversary movie for the cinematic Bond?
Here is what I felt: Well, it is definitely poles apart from the 40th anniversary movie. While DAD was OTT, filled with homages to all the past movies, besides being a farewell to Cubby's Bond. The 50th anniversary movie, on the other hand, is tightly packed & low profile (thanks to the recession, no doubt), besides being a semi-reboot of the franchise. Yes, the franchise was rebooted in 2006 with CR, but I felt Skyfall was a sort of a "reaction" to the CRASH-BANG-BOOM & the rather negative reviews received by QOS. I call it a semi-reboot because it features a return to the old Bond, and featuring the return of Q & Moneypenny, the death of Judi Dench M who is succeeded by a new male M, the appearance and destruction of the classic Aston Martin.
I felt it was a great 50th anniversary movie for the cinematic Bond.
