Watched the film last night (brilliant) and it got me wondering if there is any connection to Ian Fleming with the word/name "Skyfall". Won't spoil anything on the use of the word in the film but checked some of my James Bond books (inc the James Bond Biography book) and couldn't see anything. Does anyone know more about the use of this word?

"Skyfall" appears in the Bond canon only with this film.

Hello
Watched the film last night (brilliant) and it got me wondering if there is any connection to Ian Fleming with the word/name "Skyfall". I haven't seen the film so I'm not completely knowledgeable of the title's use in the context of the story, but I do know quite a bit about Fleming. From what I gather, the only connection to Fleming is in the way the name Skyfall mirrors the name Goldeneye, which Fleming used as the name of his winter retreat in Jamaica. Goldeneye was also the name of an operation Fleming was involved with during WWII while in Naval Intelligence. I'm not sure if Skyfall has any operational meanings however.
That's about the strongest connection I can make!
All the best,
SOS

Sounds very Fleming though, doesn't it? Always liked it as a title.
