Starting this to avoid anyone posting the lyrics elsewhere for those who don't want to know them ahead of the movie. Feel free to add suggestions, corrections or theories.

Skyfall
(composed by Adele Adkins and Paul Epworth, arranged by Paul Epworth and JAC Redford)

This is the end
Hold your breath and count to ten
Feel the Earth move and then
Hear my heart burst again

For this is the end
I’ve drowned and dreamt this moment
So overdue I owe them
Swept away I’m stolen

Let the sky fall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall
And face it all together

Let the sky fall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall
And face it all together
At Skyfall
It's at Skyfall

Skyfall is where we start
A thousand miles and poles apart
Where worlds collide and days are dark
You may have my number
You can take my name
But you’ll never have my heart

Let the sky fall (Let the sky fall)
When it crumbles (When it crumbles)
We will stand tall (We will stand tall)
And face it all together

Let the sky fall (Let the sky fall)
When it crumbles (When it crumbles)
We will stand tall (We will stand tall)
And face it all together
At Skyfall

(Let the sky fall)
(When it crumbles)
(We will stand tall)

(Let the sky fall)
(When it crumbles)
(We will stand tall)

Where you go, I go
What you see, I see
I know I’d never be me
Without the security
Of your loving arms
Keeping me from harm
Put your hand in my hand
And we'll stand

Let the sky fall (Let the sky fall)
When it crumbles (When it crumbles)
We will stand tall (We will stand tall)
And face it all together

Let the sky fall (Let the sky fall)
When it crumbles (When it crumbles)
We will stand tall (We will stand tall)
And face it all together
At Skyfall

Let the sky fall
We will stand tall
At Skyfall

So overdue I owe them

I think that line's "I owed them".

For some reason I feel like the lyrics have something to do with Bond & M.

Seems like the lyrics are referencing the lodge showdown.

Yeah, it does seem to be that way.

The line " you can take my name but you can never take my heart" is intriguing is it not?

I must admit I'm caught between being intrigued by it, and fearing that it's just a generic and clichéd nonsensical line.

This line could have more than one meaning:

"Skyfall is where we start."

Well it's good that she'd read the script and seems aware of what Skyfall actually is. Unlike something like a Moonraker or a Thunderball.

Lets hope its also a good week to be a Bond fan. :)

Seems like the lyrics are referencing the lodge showdown.

I got that impression to, "We will stand tall, And face it all together" makes me think of when Bond says, "Some people are coming to kill us, and we're going to kill them first."

Well it's good that she'd read the script and seems aware of what Skyfall actually is. Unlike something like a Moonraker or a Thunderball.

I was surprised to read that they gave her the script, I would have guessed they worked on the song with her and made suggestions. I wonder if shes also seen a cut of the film too.

...And face it all together
At Skyfall

Skyfall is where we start
A thousand miles and poles apart...

I think there is a "That's Skyfall" in the middle of that.
(or it might just be a repeat of "At Skyfall.")

Yes, I was also caught between whether it was "That's Skyfall" or a repeat of "At Skyfall". Hopefully a second chorus from the full version might make it clearer on Friday.

I'm pretty certain it's: "It's at Skyfall."

Yep, just listened to it with that in mind and you're right - "It's at Skyfall."

My quick attempt on the song lyrics based on what I know about the film:

“This is the end” – Anticipating a battle ala the final set piece, a fatalistic thought. Also matching the mood the PTS will end on.
“Hold your breath and count to ten” - Getting ready and issuing an instruction – to M maybe.
“Feel the Earth move” – Silva’s helicopters and troops moving in.

"Hear my heart burst again" - the destruction of the lodge itself, affecting Bond emotionally due to the significance it has to his family?
"I’ve drowned and dreamt this moment” – Bond falls into the water at the end of the PTS, and who knows what condition he will be in when he awakes, and what he was thinking during this time.
“So overdue I owed them” – Not totally sure here. Perhaps Bond saying to himself such actions were inevitable, and thanks to the people who brought them about?

“Swept away I’m stolen” – Bond being taken by the current after the fall?
“Let the sky fall, when it crumbles we will stand tall and face it all together” – Bring it on, I’m ready to face this threat.
“at Skyfall” – Skyfall lodge.

“Skyfall is where we start” – Narrative point maybe, and given the history of the location in Bond’s past.
“A thousand miles and poles apart” – Could be referencing the remoteness of the location.

“Where worlds collide and days are denied” – Bringing action and people from other areas to a sleepy town where they will die.
“You can take my name, but you’ll never take my heart.” – Could be taking about Bond himself, referencing his ‘death’ and his name being consigned to a tombstone, or the lodge itself.

The "It's at Skyfall" line is missing from the French radio edit, isn't it?

Good point; I'd missed that. Must only be in the full version.

For some reason I feel like the lyrics have something to do with Bond & M.

I had the same idea when I first heard it!

I feel the song is from M's POV as she talks about the 'sky falling in' (i.e. the destruction of her personal and professional world through Silva's machinations) and about Bond being there to protect her and help her through the crisis.

The story seems to revolve around the 'partnership' of Bond and M...not only as a celebration of the iconic relationship ALL incarnations of Bond and M have enjoyed in every continuity; but also bringing to a close the specific arc of Craig's Bond and Dench's M.
