Based on the condition of the road, I'm guessing that this scene either comes somewhere around the attack on the bridge, or the funeral. I wonder what the significance of the silver cars emerging from behind the crowd is. Maybe they're just civilian traffic, but the first two cars looked identical and they came out after the clapperboard was snapped.

Thanks for posting these vids, Luigi. I bet even with squinting very hard that no-one can read that clapperboard!

Interesting that they've added rainwater to the road surfaces; it's been a beautifully dry winter's day in London.

I know they often do that for night shots; it just makes the road surface look better and give it more contrast. Maybe they're doing that here, or perhaps they are matching to a rain shot. I have no idea! :)

Looks like the take begins on Parliament, moves to the cars rushing by and ends on the car speeding towards Big Ben (judging by the camera work).

They had the rain machines out on Saturday, or whenever it was, to shoot a scene outside Bond's flat. I dare say this scene leads into that one.

Looking at all the scenes filmed in London, I'm wondering what the timespan of SKYFALL is going to be. I suspect it's going to be a "short" film, with events unfolding over two or three days, as opposed to CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE, both of which take palce over the course of about a week. Of course, we don't know what is planned for Turkey and what has already been filmed on the Shanghai sets at Pinewood, so it's conceivable that SKYFALL will play out over a week.

can anyone tell me from the video if the area is anywhere near the bridge? maybe this scene is before the attack or afterwards....?

It's very difficult to tell. Based on the video, they are going around Parliament Square and east onto Bridge Street, which leads to the Westminster Bridge. However, the attack scenes were filmed on the Vauxhall Bridge, a mile upstream, and the problem is that the Jaguar was also going east across the Vauxhall Bridge. I suppose it is possible that this immedaitely precedes the attack scene and prouction is playing around with London's geography (with the Vauxhall Bridge replacing the Westminster Bridge), but I doubt it - that area of London is pretty well-known, and if the landmarks don't line up, it will be glaringly obvious.

At a guess, I'd say this takes place after the attack. It is believed that SKYFALL will contain scenes in a secret bunker buried under London as a kind of meeting point for senior government officials in the event of an attack on the city. Early in production, the film crew was known to be in Southwark and around Waterloo Station - there's a graffiti-covered tunnel somewhere aroune Leake Street and Lower Marsh Road. If this is the case, it would explain why the Jaguar is heading east across the Vauxhall Bridge, then doubles back to Parliament Square and goes east across the Westminster Bridge to get to Waterloo because this is the route they would take. Of course, that doesn't explain filming in Southwark and near St. Bart's Hospital, but there is probably going to be some chopping and changing of the cityscape.

They had the rain machines out on Saturday, or whenever it was, to shoot a scene outside Bond's flat. I dare say this scene leads into that one.

The current theory is that scenes at Bond's flat will take place later in the film, with Bond escorting M out of London and stopping at his flat long enough to retrieve the DB5.

I think that the driving sequences filmed over the past two weekends are not part of the same journey. My theory is that we'll see the Jaguar speeding around Parliament Square and then left into Whitehall, carrying M and Tanner to some sort of meeting with government officials, possibly relating to whatever events transpire in the pre-credit scenes. Following that meeting, M and Tanner depart Whitehall to return to MI6 Headquarters at Vauxhall Cross; this is where the Millbank driving scene would fit in. Following that, the Jaguar turns off Millbank onto Vauxhall Bridge, and this is where the car is stopped by the police, as M and Tanner witness the attack on MI6. Given the immediate danger and destruction to Vauxhall Cross, M and Tanner head to the emergency underground bunker, perhaps picking up bearded/dishevelled Bond on the way.

As for use of the Waterloo and Southwark tunnels from earlier in the shooting schedule, my guess is that those locations are being used simply due to the similar architecture to the desired underground bunker location. I agree that they'll be chopping and changing with various different parts of London to make a composite bunker location, and we'll probably not be given a specific site.

I agree with this, totally, Vaux. I have a feeling that the PTS will be Bond heavy, and after the main titles, we don't see Bond untill after the MI6 explosion. Where M brings him in.

My theory is...

PTS
Main Titles
A scene with Javier (Like Le Chiffre and White in Casino Royale, although I'm hoping that we're not introduced to Javier later on in the film, so the explosion will be sudden and unexpected)
M and Tanner, maybe Clair Dowar, Finney and Fiennes
MI6 Explosion
Bond brought back into the field after the attacks. (Bond with stubble in the SUV will be the first time we see him in the film, bar the PTS)

That's what I'm hoping too FWWL!

Here's a quote Mendes put on the 007 Facebook update about this blog...

"The roots of my doing this Bond movie start way before anybody approached me because, like everyone else, I have my own personal relationship with Bond which began when I was I suppose about nine or ten years old. I've been a fan of the movies."

Sounds good!

Just for fun.

When Mendes was 10, it was 1975... TMWGG was his first?? That´s why the oriental tone of SF?? The name of Bardem is Scaramanga (in the novel, Scaramanga had Spanish roots!)?...

Umm... as fun as that is, he says 9 or 10 and that fits with LALD, which he has already said was his first Bond at the cinema.

Didn't Bond's flat feature in LALD?

Some videos taken during the filming at 10 Trinity Square probably on Saturday 25th February 2012. The shot featuring a Jaguar speeding off a Whitehall office will be around scene #131 in the upcoming film. Dame Judi Dench is in the car.

Great detective work as usual, Luigi! However, all these driving clips are starting to get just a wee bit tedious... to break the monotony, here's a little diddy which I think works well for these scenes..lol
