Have a couple of customized MEGO 007 figures up on eBay this week, both based on scenes from Moonraker:

The costumes look familiar - who's the character/actor supposed to be?

Okay, so Mego didn't exactly "nail the likeness," to put it mildly, but these outfits are awesome! Well done. If they were made for the Sideshow figure, I'd be sorely tempted. In fact, in retrospect I can't believe Sideshow never got around to a Safari-Suited Roger.

I like the accuracy of the pre-title sequence outfit....well, no, I do agree the detail for both is great!

Unfortunately, pretty much NOTHING after-market fits Sideshow (or MEGO either, for that matter; both have the weirdest proportions).

I'd love to know the thinking behind Sideshow's choices.

I didn't set out to expand the MEGO Moonraker universe, it's just that I have a bunch of the figures, only a few of the original spacesuits in decent condition, and I needed to do something. In picking up some 1/6 lots, I wound-up with the parachute and the safari suit and they got me to thinking: Ignoring Sideshow, how about the outfits MEGO could have done?

From what I've seen, you're lucky just to have two Roger figures that haven't succumbed to the "gray-faced zombie" effect that's ruined so many vintage Megos.

Don't know if you read the actual eBay listings, but they're reconditioned; there's this arcane process of restoring them involving tire spray and tool dip that I don't know how anyone ever discovered but it works great.

Oops, no, didn't read the listing. But I think that's the same technique they used on the real Roger during the filming of AVTAK.
