The word association game at the beginning really interests me since it provides an insight into Craig's Bond. We learn that he considers himself English to the core, utterly and completely loyal to 'Queen and Country'. We learn that he clearly perceives himself as a man of violence, and his mind is perpetually pre-occupied, even consumed by the violent nature of his profession. The 'Murder...employment' exchange even tells us that Bond has come to terms with his role as what is essentially a state sanctioned assassin, though it could also simply be a reflection of the old Fleming idea that Bond simply considered killing part of his job and tried not to think too much about it.
Based on the teaser, and other rumors I've heard sprinkled all across the web, I think something goes horribly wrong in the mission Bond is on in the pre-title sequence (in Turkey, I believe?) and that mission had something to do with Skyfall. Bond is thus being evaluated at MI6 to determine if he's fit for duty. However, the implication also exists that Skyfall is something which concerns Bond personally and may have compromised him...or maybe its something which caused the mission to go awry.
The imagery in the trailer is stunning...especially the Shanghai scenes!

It appears to me that Patrice is hired by Severine to snipe the businessman she's meeting, and Bond gets to him before he necessarily gets a chance to finish the job - leading to Patrice taking a tumble from the skyscraper. There was someone else in the room with Severine the man that was sitting in the chair or standing around it, that I think was Patrice's target and Severine is the black widow type....he thinks he is hot then bang....a bit too late for bond to save unless bond "saves" her....

Isn't that a lift shaft he's falling down?
Either way, it's quite neat that he goes the same way he (presumably) sent Bond earlier in the film.

If you look to the top right of Patrice as he falls (if it is him...of course), you can see cars on the freeway / street below so I reckon he'll go straight down...hopefully there's no-one under him!
AND perfect chance for a Craig-style pun if he makes on...any bets?

Yep, said the same thing monday, but no one was interested Looks like the same bridge, I wonder if they build it all at the pinewood tank? Probably, right? If anyone remember this Chinese bridge shown in the Shanghai videoblog, it looks like it may well be the inspiration for the bridge which Bond's boat goes under on his way to the Macau casino shown at around 0:46 in the teaser:

Sorry, missed that on Monday or I'd have said something! I think that was all recreated in the Pinewood paddock tank, yes, although you'd never guess to look at it. Brilliantly done by Dennis Gassner and his team.Yep, said the same thing monday, but no one was interested Looks like the same bridge, I wonder if they build it all at the pinewood tank? Yes, indeed; travelling the world to exotic locales and then getting to recreate the best of them for James Bond movies. If there's a job opening coming up that you hear about, please let me know.No prob Vaux, I´m just glad someone else noticed the bridge thing. Quite exotic right? I am interested in Patrice's involvement in the PTS. If Bond jumps from the bike onto the moving train, has his fight and tumbles off into the water below and the fight continues - this is where Patrice may 'kill' Bond, right? I wonder how this is achieved, intentional on Bond's part or something that just eventuates? Because Patrice will be sure that he did die it seems.
I´ve heard that

That makes a lot of sense to me and seems like it explains a lot.

Thanks for the reply, univex. That does make some sense. If that shot of Bond fighting underwater is from the PTS - maybe the train falls off into the water and causes the fight to stop. Leaving Patrice (and MI6) assuming Bond died from the impact, as no body is found.

Ah, it's just occurred to me that there are two underwater shots in the teaser, and we're probably referring to a different ones. That's not Ola Rapace in that underwater shot. His hairline's completely different.
0:50 - A man (Bond) falls into choppy blue water, with the camera underneath looking up towards him.
1:15 - An unknown henchman attempts to strangle Bond in slightly orange-tinted water
I think the first one of these will be Bond falling from the bridge "dead" at the end of the pre-titles.

Have to say I'm leaning more to the Lodge as it looks to be set in darkness and there is a nice fiery glow...perhaps in a lake nearby maybe?

I suppose Skyfall Lodge is more likely, what with the henchman being Caucasian. Maybe there's a flooded cavern under the house, or something like that?

It must be either Macau or Skyfall Lodge.

Some spoilers at Mi6 are quite revealing and I, having no compulsion , have clicked on all of them. Blast, now I now stuff...like what happens to Severine and many many other things... One thing is for certain, we´re in for quite a ride. And no, I won´t be divulging the spoilers, they are were they are, if anyone is interested - out of my hands, in which, disclaimer, they never were in the first place. This will be one helluva film!
