Bond is going to be driving a car in Shanghai (highways, neon light etc) we can assume that, yes?

Well, I do remember a black merc, but I suppose that can be the car Bond is tailing.Would they be so secretive about a car we’ve seen numerous photos of already? Anything is possible regarding Skyfall secrecy I suppose.

I just don’t think they’d be that secretive about M’s Jag or it even spring to mind when asked about Bond’s car. A “no, he just has the DB5 in this one.” would be the more obvious answer.

Well, there are audis and volkswagens in Skyfall, and we do know who owns Bentley don´t we?
Yes, the fact that the VWs all turned out to be new ones seems important too. A product placement deal with two car manufactures, perhaps?

Well, the beetles weren´t new, but then again, we know what happens to those right? The audi was new, I think.

I could very well be wrong.
Edit:
Here are the Land Rovers and the Beetles about to be shipped out to Turkey, they all look new to me.

Oh, I know they originally talked about buying old Beetles, but I thought they were new ones when we saw the on-set photos.

New models, definitely. New as in 'fresh from the factory'? No, don't think so. If they get a rough treatment there's no point in giving it to brand-new models with less than 30 miles on the clock and the whole range of extras on board. I suppose they bought write-off models from accidents and fires for this. The valuable parts could be stripped because they only need the exterior images.

They weren’t just given them by Volkswagen, as would normally be the case?

Volkswagen/Landrover surely both also have write-offs. Models that got damaged prior to delivery to the customer. You can hardly sell them the ordinary way, so a film that features them would be a perfect use.

Well yes, possibly.
But new shells from the factory with only the bare essentials to make them look like road worthy cars would seem like the most obvious thing for them to be.
Volkswagen would happily and easily supply such cars.
Anyway, this is sidetracking my point, which was that they are (at least in appearance) new VWs and not old.

Also possible. They do a lot of 'basic' models for fleet use that are often not heavy on the extras.
