AHH...also, on that picture of the next box art and booklet...notice Dalton's hand has now moved to his pocket, not his groin?? ;)

At least they realized how awful the original picture of Dalton was and decided to make some attempt to fix it. It's a shame that they couldn't have gone with an entirely different still of Dalton, like it appears they've done with Lazenby, but at least it doesn't look nearly as bad as it previously did.

Hopefully sometime in the coming months we'll get some news about individual releases. I have no plans to buy this box set, but I would like to get The Living Daylights, From Russia With Love, and For Your Eyes Only on Blu-ray to accompany the copies of Dr. No, Licence to Kill, Casino Royale, and Quantum of Solace that I already own.

Maybe they read your complaints and agreed with you. ;)

Please complain strongly about the lack of special features and we might get some.

If it was really an attempt to make myself, in particular, happy, they would have gone with this pose and gone with a different Moore pose so that they weren't similar. ;)

Please complain strongly about the lack of special features and we might get some.

I'll get right on it. ;) :D

Yeah...who from Sony/MGM/EON is on here then looking for fan feedback reaction...it'd be someone you'd least expect!

I agree, that's a cracking pose by Dalton, tdalton, and Moore should be taller to fit in height wise... and I do love Craig...but his is gun a little TOO big in that line up? (Get the innuendo out right now...)

Disappointing, those special features.

But since I don´t own any Bond blu ray yet I will buy this set.

Same here. I've never even bought the whole set on standard DVD. And the ones I did buy were the SE versions. So, for me, at less than £4 a disc, this set is a real bargain.

The only thing that really worries me is if we end up with replaced sound effects, as I don't suppose the UK set will include the original mono tracks.

Repalced sound effects? Oh no I forgot about those...

...but as long as 'Octopussy' still has the Tarzan yell, who's complaining? Am I right....?

...but me being a picky sod would then pray that all the 22 Blu-Ray film cover art follows at least some pattern/theme for the boxset, but then if they do, will that leave 'Skyfall' sticking out like a sore thumb?

If so, does this mean the Blu-Ray covers will be generic / poster covers that don't follow a 50th theme? Because like the UE DVD Collection that had 'CR' and 'QOS' sticking out like a sore-thumb, 'Skyfall' will look out of place otherwise in a decent looking set.

Here's hoping there's SOME plan to the layout...!

Well it looks like they're all in a booklet:
Posted Image

Where has the "leaving a space for Skyfall" thing come from?

I wasn't too keen when I first realised that this wouldn't have individual disc boxes - but I must admit that I quite like the look of the booklet.

Not too bothered about the special features - seen all I wanted from that, and I never listen to the voiceover things. Bond in HD is all I need from this, and it's clearly being delivered.

Can't wait to see OHMSS in HD!

Why not just release it a couple of months later so it can include Skyfall...?

You could even get it in shops in time for Christmas...

Personally, I wouldn't mind waiting a little bit to get SF included.

From The Digital Bits:

"Upon reading the list however, I wasn't convinced that it was 100% comprehensive and included absolutely everything on the discs. So I asked the studio to clarify. Sure enough, I've just heard back from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. As expected, the list posted yesterday - and included in the official press release - was simply a "marketing highlights" summary. The complete list of extras on the discs is significantly longer. We've asked for additional details and specifics and we'll post them here as the studio makes them available."

Yeah, I am very interested in getting the films in HD - but would very much prefer to have them individually in cases. Something like this is very temporary. Bond is an ongoing franchise and movies will be left out of this booklet as time goes on. I'd much rather stack them in a line, together on my bookshelf.

Now THAT makes me slightly more excited if true, great find - thanks for posting.

So they sorted out akward poses for Lazenby and Dalton and have more extras up their sleeve...did we peak to soon on the Blu-Ray backlash? I guess they need to 'show down' soon to convince us!

Can't wait to hear / see more...

All a bit disappointing. Not sure I'll be getting this now.

Nice touch for them to include the SKYFALL videoblogs and featurettes, and leave a space in the collection to add the movie's disc when released, but that's scant consolation.

Vauxhall, where did you find the info that the box leaves a space for SKYFALL?

A tweet from the official James Bond @007 account: https://twitter.com/...651420132188160

Bond 50 on Blu-ray collection out Sept 24 (UK) & 25 (US)! Features a space for ‪SKYFALL‬ when it comes out on Blu-ray!

Slightly more hopefully news, but I'd be surprised if they were vastly improved in the final form.

If anything, it's 'Casino Royale' 3-Disc DVD extras I want to see on there and that all important boost of 'Quantum Of Solace' extras / deleted scene / alternate ending!

And of course, anything else from the archives is greatly welcome!

I'm hoping for deleted scenes for every Bond film. I know it's a bit of a stretch, and it will probably not be the case at all. It saddens me to know there's so much more of Bond that we probably won't get to see.

For one, I'd love to see the deleted scenes for Die Another Day. There's apparently a good half an hours worth. Especially the infamous hot tub scene. Also there's this, "Bond arriving at Heathrow. To avoid passport control, he disembarks the plane via the landing gear." that Id love to see.

The World Is Not Enough had loads cut as well. From IMDb. "Press screenings ran at ca. 160 minutes. For general release the film was later cut down to 128 minutes."

I'd also love to see many of the Bond films passed 'Uncut'. Since Licence To Kill will be a 15, I guess it won't hurt to dump up the ratings for GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies again. As well as Die Another Day, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. That's just wishfull thinking though.

In any event, owning this box probably does not mean that one can sell the UE DVDs.

I know. I kind of messed up with that. I gave the UE DVD's I own on Blu Ray to one of my best friends, and I was going to give him the rest once I get the Bond 50 Boxset, because I assumed the special features would be carried over. So now I don't have a matching set. Nevermind!

I'm still giving them to him. I'm just going to keep hold of my Casino Royale deluxe edition, which I was planning to give to my other best friend for Christmas. Hope we get everything carried over. I'm not holding my breath though.

Looks like a full listing of set extras is still to come:

From The Digital Bits:
[font="arial, helvetica, courier, *"]And in other news, there's been a lot of talk around the Internet about the list of extras revealed yesterday by Fox and MGM for the upcoming Bond 50 box set. Specifically, it appeared (based on the press release) that many things have been left off from the previous DVD and Blu-ray Ultimate Editions of the Bond films. Upon reading the list however, I wasn't convinced that it was 100% comprehensive and included absolutely everything on the discs. So I asked the studio to clarify. Sure enough, I've just heard back from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. As expected, the list posted yesterday - and included in the official press release - was simply a "marketing highlights" summary. I'm guessing they will hold off on the CE of Quantum of Solace until 2013. Also, it may be a year or so before we see individual Bond titles on blu ray.

It would've been nice for them to include the CE's of Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

Those deleted scenes would be amazing...if they film all this stuff, now is the time to let it be shown so it's not just sat wasting away!

. Also there's this, "Bond arriving at Heathrow. To avoid passport control, he disembarks the plane via the landing gear." that Id love to see.

'Commando: 2'? I hope he drops off the landing gear into a swampy marsh like Schwarzenegger!

And no matter what, I will never give up my UE DVDs, in the attache case. Next to my Omega watch and silk Roger Moore tie, I think that's the one thing I love the most as a set!

At least that one SHOULD be on the new BD!

Yeah, he definately did do an Audio Commentary. Really want to hear his views on the movie. I hope it's included. Also, that bloody alternate ending NEEDS to be on the special features. It was promised with the original DVD release.

And - having seen the extra features on the CR DVD special edition for the umpteenth time, I hunger for something more. Wouldn´t it be great to see the Henry Cavill casting session? He´s Superman now so it won´t hurt him, will it?

I don't follow you at all...

As for the disc content, we can expect the same stuff from the previous BDs and (most likely) nothing else. Hopefully nothing from the UE DVDs left off of the remaining films' Blu-ray discs.

The CR CE bonus content is on Blu-ray, too... it's just on 2 discs as opposed to 3. The extra disc is not going to be part of "Bond 50" and that's that.

And it looks like we definitely aren't seeing any new content for QoS either. It almost seems like we're not going to get alternate ending(s) or Marc Forster's (already recorded) commentary any time soon.

The Living Daylights (Brosnan)
Possibly the best commentary of the all, the commentary of The Living Daylights by Pierce Brosnan. For years fans have dismissed it as little more than a myth, an urban legend, but I can assure you that it does exist, deep within the MGM archives. Brosnan is tied to a chair and forced to watch the film that he was denied the opportunity to star in. As Dalton walks along the gunbarrel opening, we hear Brosnan proclaim “that should be me up there”. From then until midway though the Q scene, he gives a bitter recount of the events that prevented him from being in the film. But the real highlight comes in the second half, where Brosnan breaks down into tears as he comes to the realisation that the film is 50 times better than any of ones that he has starred in.
