...they couldn't give me any info but did see Ralph Fiennes walking along in a suit. Speculate away.

Wow. The crew will get hell for this...

... unless EON does not read Cbn.net, of course. Which is inconceivable.

I'm now actually feeling rather silly for writing the original post, I don't want to get anyone into trouble so I've deleted it - sorry about that, i guess I got too excited!

This seems to confirm (IF true) that fiennes is indeed not the baddie but working inside or alongside MI6 OR is a traitor in their own rows.

There wasn't any solid info in the post. A source said Fiennes was in a suit. (It wasn't stated but I assume business suit). Possibly his character was named Mallory.

People are freaking out and extrapolating all kinds of info from that.

Some recent pictures of Ralph Fiennes. I do not mean that in Skyfall he will look the same, but you can get an idea of his recent appearance.

No matters traitors please.

One of the major elements of espionage is in turning enemy agents to work for you. And it goes both ways.

And it despite that, it only occurs in Fleming's work once or twice. As said before, the best Bond plots are very simple and straight forward, with very few twists and turns. The entertainment value lies from the colour and details given to the story, not the broad outline.

Obviously they meant a space suit. Clearly Skyfall is a remake of Moonraker.

Could Ralph Finnes be playing one of Fleming's character that never was in the movies from the novel "moonrake" . COuld he be the Assistant Commissioner Ronnie Vallance? Scotland Yard/London Metro Police? He is one of the few characters that have never been in any of the movie. I feel that he could fit in with what happen in the plot with the attack of Mi6?

That's a very interesting and plausible idea, given that the film will apparently include a big attack in London involving collateral damage. Imagine this: The commish, in his zeal to bring the perpetrators to justice, begins asking embarrassing questions of MI6. He suspects MI6 of holding back, perhaps even trying to stymie his investigation. He becomes a thorn in M's side, and his dogged campaign results in an event from her past being dredged up. It's interesting to imagine the police going under M's head, so to speak, and enlisting Bond to collect evidence from all over the world. I can imagine the poster: The crime scene covered three continents... It would give Bond an opportunity to do genuine detective work, and an excuse to "go rogue" without taking things personally.

Anyone else feel pretty sure that Fiennes will just be playing some character that Purvis & Wade cooked up? I think it's incredibly wishful thinking that he'll be Blofeld or an obscure commissioner from the Moonraker novel or anything like that. Mathis was cool, but they had an entire unused novel to work from there. They tend not to be very imaginative or work directly from Fleming.

I think people should prepare themselves for a bunch of "original" characters, like Eve, Mallory and Severin.

Also prepare yourselves for another traitor/double-agent/MI6 twisty turny story. Sounds like that's exactly what they are doing to me, though it's nice t fantasise that they're coming up with the greatest Bond film ever with a bunch of classic re-invented characters and a whole new viewpoint or something. I've decided to face it that we're probably not going to get that really.

Since Bond´s loyalty was questioned in QOS, it might be a logical next step for Bond to question M´s loyalty and investigate her - while being used by the villains who already infiltrated the government.

Personally, I would find it very interesting if M indeed became a traitor - so Bond would have to fight her. I would not mind if SKYFALL were the last Dench-M and Bond 24 would start with a new M.
