Just curious to see where people rank the films in the series....

1. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
By far the best one in my opinion. Heather Grahm is smoking hot. It introduces new characters (like Fat Bastard and Mini Me) and has more jokes.

2. Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
Obviously, the one that started it all. Pretty funny premise, funny characters and jokes all around and of course Liz Hurley is good eye candy. The formula just wasn't as refined as the sequel (TSWSM).

3. Austin Powers in Goldmember
Honestly, I don't really like this film. It's actually a parody of itself. It's just one lame joke after the next...playing off characters and jokes in previous films. Again, sexy leading lady (Beyonce), but definitely the worst film of the trilogy.

AP:IMoM: 1st place. It worked for me. I loved the not-so subtle references to the first 8 007 films. Any movie set in Las Vegas wins points with me anyway. It's the only one of the three in my video collection.

AP:TSWSM: Very disappointing. Instead of carrying on referencing the 007 films, it made not-so-subtle references to the Carry On movies. What little was good wasn't original, and what little was original wasn't good. Decent Song by Madonna, though.

APiGM: Rarely do I go to a movie already knowing I'm not going to like it. I waited and saw this one at the second-run theatre, thereby saving money on admission and/or video rental. The first five minutes was the best part. Otto van Smut - WTF?

IMCO.

classic law of diminishing returns for me;

1; International Man of Mystery - one of the funniest films of the last 30 years; wonderful. The music interlude snippets are great, cant understand why they dissapeared after the first pic and the "the details of my life are quite inconsequential" speech is the absolute highlight of the series.

2; The Spy Who Shagged Me - I'd rate IMOM a solid 9, but Spy is a 7 at best; Mini-Me and FB are great characters but the humor seems more forced and the joy seems lost.

3; Goldmember - actually better than I had expected, not that far behind Spy for me. The opening and closing are very good and it's nice to see Caine and Beyonce does look amazing.

All of them sporadically enjoyable, but 2 and 3 go on a bit. The encounter group scene in the first one - a penchant for buggery - is most hootsome though.

I'd rank them in the order they were made. Very funny the first.

1.
2.
3. Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Austin Powers in Goldmember.

The films are about as funny as a childrens cancer ward and about as good as a Pierce Brosnan James Bond movie.
