Christopher Cazenove, who played James Bond in the BBC TV Documentary Omnibus: The British Hero has passed away.

I've never seen the show, but apparently he played a number of British heroes, including proto-Bond Bulldog Drummond, in scenes taken from various novels.

For Bond, one of the scenes they used came from Goldfinger, with Bond threatened by the buzz saw:

Very sad 64 is no age these days.....he was a popular figure on British tv from the 80's onward though I never saw his turn as Bond.

RIP.

And Blake Carrington and his brother die within days of each other. Someone make sure John James and Jack Coleman don't leave the house!

I can't imagine Cazenove as Bond, but I always thought that he'd make a decent Simon Templar. He seemed cut from the same cloth as Ian Ogilvy.

This is very sad news indeed. I saw his struggle for life reported in the papers a few weeks ago and hoped that he'd pull through.

RIP

Sad news.

Unfortunately I remember him best (or worst) as the awful slimy British baddie in "Three Men and a Little Lady".

Cazenove was married to the lovely Angharad Rees so at least he had some joy in his life.

Had no idea he played Heath Ledger's father in A Knight's Tale; rest in peace, Mr. Cazenove. B)
