Fatima - you effect me James - Blush was ten years ahead of Xenia - likes a good squeeze - Onatop. Her character, Shrublands and the fact that SPECTRE has its own personalised logo on its match boxes and helicopter landing pads make the whole film worthwhile.

We need all the Bonds we can get...

As a stand alone film I think it's better than Thunderball.

It's probably because of the lack of the Bond theme and a decent score that so many people dislike it.

The opening sequence is ok, but not eyepopping enough.

Largo is played excellently though.
Pity the motorbike didn't have more gadgets.

NSNA is not a bad film if you remove the fact that it's not a official Bond . And in some way is a poor remake of "Thunderball". We have to thank the makers of "NSNA" for one thing . It recharged EON to do a better job with "Octopussy" .Since in 1983 it was labeled as the battle of the Bonds in the media . With many thinking that Moore was not up to the task . Connery would win hands down since he was the original Bond . Moore /EON surprised everyone.

I like Never Say Never Again for the fact that it is different Bond movie....I never understood why people had a problem with it just because it wasn't an official one.

NSNA is an enjoyable movie, great fun to watch :)

I was a bit disappointed with the bare bones dvd we got, as, like Casino Royale, the story behind the making of it is a fascinating one and would be an ideal opportunity to see the deleted scenes, such as Blofeild's death.

I'm intrigued. I was not aware that Blofeld's death was proposed. How was it to take place?

They shot a lot more Max Von Sydow scenes as Blofeld than actually appeared in the finished movie...

Any idea why they weren't used? I've always felt Max Von Sydow was the best Blofeld as brief as his part is.

Possibly because of length reasons, the final cut runs for 2hrs and 9 mins, which was very long for a Bond movie at the time, a longer running time would have limited the number of showings and cut into profits.

I agree with you on this point. Max Von Sydow is a great actor and I think he was an inspired choice to play Blofeld. Hopefully, the missing scenes are still around somewhere and will one day be cut back into the movie.
Now that MGM owns the movie, maybe they could bring Barry in to replace the soundtrack, any thought???.....
