If Bond were to be blackmailed it would have to be for him killing someone that he was ordered not to. And then I'd think it would have to be something that if it got out to the public it would cause a war or some other great public problem. Bond couldn't give a damn on whether his life was ruined or not. A blackmail on Bond would only be successful if Bond had something or someone else to protect.

If this colleague is now married, and *she* could also lose her job and her husband because of this getting out, I think Bond might play along for a while until he could find something about this colleague to keep things even.
Or....Bond would pretend to allow himself to be blackmailed, if only to find out what this colleague's real agenda was.

But don't you think it's possible that at a certain point M has just had enough of Bond's womanizing? That he crossed one line too many? And that she could consider firing him?
