Hmmm, could this fish be Jaws? Moonraker perhaps?

Kind of on the right lines but no. Its the film and a certain aspect of it that you're guessing, remember

How about the literal fish out of water that Bond drops out the window of the Lotus as he and Anya drive out of the Mediterranean? (I think it was Christopher Wood who complained about that visual ad lib--which was possibly suggested by Moore--because for the fish to have gotten in, the Lotus would have been nowhere near water-tight...)

Whoops, you're right--I didn't finish it out and name Die Another Day.

(Ha, ha, ha--okay, okay, The Spy Who Loved Me.)

Next clue:

A slight flameout.

Could this be a pun for the lighter Leiter scene in LTK?

Bond's boots briefly on fire whilst he is on top of the land-rover in The Living Daylights?

Oh, good one! But unfortunately not what I was thinking.

Warning: The solution to this one is a little offbeat, but I don't yet want to say exactly how because it might give too much away. A few months ago in one of these guessing games, someone had an answer that related to a deleted scene from CR. This isn't from a deleted scene, but it's offbeat in kind of the way that one was. Whether this info will reduce or add to the confusion, I have no idea....!

Also clever, but no.

Keep in mind that it's slight, and it's a flameout.

And I may as well add, to move things along, that the clue does pertain to something that happens in the movie itself.

No, sorry.

Again, remember the word slight and the fact that it's a flameout rather than a flame.

This has languished awhile. Maybe this will help move things along:

I described this as offbeat because, while it happened within the film, it's actually a blooper. A further clue is that it was a Connery blooper.

You are THISCLOSE!

It's the correct movie--so yours is, strictly speaking, the winning guess--and the correct type of prop, but I'm thinking of a different moment a bit later in the film. I think you should get first crack at this, so in the unlikely event anyone else is looking in, please hold your answers if you don't mind, and let Mr. Blofeld work this out!

Well...here's another hint. If Bond had (a la the FRWL code intro) used a lighter instead, it would indeed have been "better still" in the cigarette-ignition department. Or maybe the gun in his lap distracted his attention...

Yes. If the blooper's not as well known as I thought, I can just tell it.

You've named two bloopers I didn't know existed! This one may be tough to (ahem) match.

Yes! He's talking to Dent, strikes a match, talks some more, and by the time he gets the match to the cigarette the match has gone out. There's a cutaway to Dent in the middle, so you don't see it go out. But when it cuts back Bond has the match to the cigarette and the match is smoking, indicating that the flame is out.

Your turn.....
