Wonderful!

Beating the likes of Batman and Indy!

Best James Bond film of them all thus far!

Not that I have anything against it, I'd probably watch it out of curiosity, but just what is it about Mama Mia that appeals so much to European audiences? It isn't likely the cast, is it Abba music?

A film like Titanic, for instance, I can understand the huge box office appeal for, with its hot young stars and some things that appeal beyond the romantic angle. It had all the ingredients for a box office blockbuster and critical success. Mama Mia's mass appeal just mystifies me, though.

As I understand it it was rather popular here in the US, though primarily with its target audience. Women.
