Perhaps, this subject has been discussed before. But I want to know, as I don't know much about guns, which is the gun that Bond used in the teaser poster and theatrical poster for CR??

And the PPK is only used, during the film, in the bathrroom fight or is it also used with Dryden and in other scenes in CR??

No I believe those are the P99 as well B) I don't think it is used once through the whole film ...?
But I believe the question was what were the pistols on the posters.

Yes, that was the original question (and thanks for the answer), but then I have this other question, because some people have stated that at least the PPK was used in the bathrroom fight in CR, but others like you disagree with that, so I have my doubts.

I can say with confidence that it was definitely the P99 used in the bathroom fight not just from the movie but when I watch production footage it is obvious that the P99 is the pistol used.

I think the affirmation of wikipedia is based on the photo of Bond On Set, extracted from Bond's gunbarrel shoot, which would clarify that it is the PPK the gun that is used by Bond in first killling during CR.

Perhaps, you say that the P99 was used in the bathroom fight scene, because that's the gun that Bond take off from Dryden's contact, which is later pointed at Bond by this thug, forming thus the gunbarrel scene. However, feel free to corrrect me if I'm wrong.

Well not to sound like a know-it-all but I'm positive Bond had the P99 in the bathroom and Fisher must have had a Sig-Sauer or something close to that. It is undeniable that it is infact the P99 used to wack Dryden.

That's a Walther P99.

I would assume the gun that Bond used in the bathroom would be the same one he used to kill Dryden. Can't think of a reason why not.

You could be right about that. But in these forum- alongside with the wikipedia reference- there are several persons that have stated, particularly judging by the Bond On Set Book, that Bond used used the PPK for CR's gunbarrel. So I'm still a little doubtful.

Viewing the scene again and Bond on set. The cover on the book depicts the PPK in Bond's hand but the only other picture of the bathroom fight with Bond is hard to call. I believe it's the P99 used both times as is through the rest of the movie. What I don't understand is why would Bond use the P99 in CR then the PPK in QOS. Why not stick with one, the PPK I would hope. Although in real life a P99 with 9mm would be much more powerful then a PPK with 380 ACP the PPK is much more attractive.

I think the choice of the PPK in QOS was for sheer vintage cool. There's no explanation as to why an assassin would go from a modern 9mm to a compact that's older than the entire Bond legacy (I'd have loved to see him with the newer PPS, myself). If I were to try to think of a logical reason, I'd just drive myself nuts; therefore, it's just up to us to be excited to see Bond with the old PPK again for fun.
