Just watched a bit of Quantum this morning, and I am very suprised I didn't pick up on this before. When Tanner and M are talking, just before she goes into see the Foreign Secretary, is the locaton the exact same one used for the Blades club in Die Another Day?

You know the scene I mean? "When the police discovered Mathis' body, Bond disarmed and shot them".

I'm POSITIVE it's the same one used in Die Another Day during the "This place needed re-decorating, anyway..." exhange.

I don't know, but it would make sense... It's a well known fact that English politicians have their real office in gentlemen's clubs. B)

I was wondering the same thing, since the first time I've watched QOS.

And what about the new Julia Roberts/Clive Owen thriller, DUPLICITY? One of the key scenes is based on the same OCEAN CLUB suite from "Casino Royale" (where Bond left Solange!)

I am yet to see it, so I am hesitant to comment, but Duplicity's trailers make it look like one huge ripoff of Casino Royale's design, right down to locations, costuming, etc.

RE: the Reform Club, I hadn't even considered that until just now. Amazing what a slightly different camera angle can do! Love that bit on screen, though, has an incredibly retro feel to it. Like the old MI6 and M's office.

I've just watched the trailer on youtube, and yes, I can see what you mean, MattofSteel! It does look like one big rip off. Julia Roberts was actually walking into a bank like Vesper!

Though judging from the box office take, audiences do not

Walking into the bank. Walking through the Italian city, Owen following. Owen's costuming (beige suit and navy getup), Roberts' costuming (black overcoat Vesper was fond of), rather prominent Martini in the bar, the Italian hotel room with wickedly similar set design to the Venetian one in CR, the SAME EXACT ROOM at the Ocean Club in the Bahamas seen in CR, Paradise hotel's prominent feature, Owen's sunglasses (Craig in QOS, Haiti)...

...and that's just the trailer. I haven't even seen the film. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions? Or, maybe this is just exactly the movie I should be going to see?

Not judging. Just saying. Seems a bit heavy for coincidence.

The Reform Club also features in the BBC adaptation of John Le Carre's "Smiley's People". Smiley goes in and retrieves his gun and passports.
